Despite its cozy size and the need to wait outside for what felt like forever, the restaurant had a great mix of patrons coming in and out. The staff was on point, always ready to lend a hand. As for the grub, my duck was on point - nice and crispy. However, the flavors were a bit too intense for my liking, bordering on salty. The real bummer was being nudged to leave a tip, which kind of put me off as the service wa... View all feedback.
Got the beef tantan ramen. Food's good with punchy broth (with some spicy yet not the kind of flaming-spicy sensation) and succulent noodles. Service wise the wait was quick, only about five minutes but they couldn't wait to kick us out even when there were so many empty seats and nobody was waiting outside for seats. Otherwise I liked the broth it was strong and on the saltier side. I normally don't drink the soup but I pretty much downed it to the bottom. Portion was just nice for me. Also good choice of Japanese music.
A Worthwhile Visit to a Japanese Gem in Oxford After hearing positive reviews and seeing tempting photos of their ramen dishes, I finally had the chance to dine at this Japanese restaurant in Oxford. The ramens certainly lived up to their reputation of authenticity. I opted for the spicy Tan tan beef ramen and was genuinely impressed by the flavors. It was a satisfying and delicious choice. The staff was friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall pleasant experience. My husband tried the octopus pancake and ebi tempura. He enjoyed both dishes and found them to be flavorful and well-prepared. Overall, this restaurant proved to be a decent spot for Japanese cuisine in Oxford. While I enjoyed the meal and the ambiance, it's worth a visit if you're looking for an authentic taste of Japanese flavors.
Great, comforting ramen soup chokeful of ingredients. The pork was really tasty with a slight char, though I'm not sure why they put pickled radish strips in it. Came just after they opened and they were almost full testimony to their good food at reasonable prices.
Small restaurant so expect it can be busy and Expect queues but worth the wait. Service is quick as you expect like in Japan The ramen was super delicious lovely textures from variety ingredients. Sweetcorn/seaweed/fried onions/woodear/ char siu pork. The ramen broth was flavoursome even my partner ordered a side to drink with her curry ramen.
Been here 3-4 times. Always delicious ramen, bill came to £100 for 4 people with one main each (ramen or donburi) plus a few sharing dishes (gyoza, takoyaki, kara-age etc) and beers. Very reasonable pricing and the quality of the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend the chicken kara-age and the classic tonkotsu ramen. You can't reserve, and all your party need to be present for you to be seated. Quieter times are 5pm. Queues often 10+ people deep at peak hours (around 6:30-7:30). Service is always efficient and friendly. You can also take home leftovers with a 50p per container charge. Nothing to fault here at all!
