Atmosphere was warm and friendly but the food was mediocre. I dined on a Friday evening before the pub got busy. It took 40 mins for my steak which was not done per my request to be served. The chips were undercooked and tasted like old oil. View all feedback.

read moreThe Magdalen Arms in Oxford has received mixed reviews, with some diners commenting on the mediocre food quality, slow service, and lack of gluten-free options. However, many others have praised the charming atmosphere, excellent wine list, and delicious menu featuring local ingredients. The friendly service and cozy pub setting make it a popular choice for both dining and drinking. Those looking for a quality meal that is worth the cost have recommended this spot over other options in the city center. Additionally, the Magdalen Arms has been noted as a great venue for special events, such as wedding breakfasts, due to the exceptional food and attentive staff. Overall, while some diners may have had less than satisfying experiences, many have found the food, service, and ambiance to be top-notch and worthy of a return visit.
