We LOVE Akira! It’s been our go-to even before we officially moved here. Staff is always friendly and welcoming and the food is always fresh and delicious! Parking: It’s a large parking lot for the entire strip mall. There’s always been plenty of spots, even during busier times. View all feedback.
What G E Gramajo doesn't like about Akira Sushi:
There's better stuff out there. Our rainbow row had aluminum pieces in it, the crunchy roll wasn't crunchy, the rolls weren't cut all the way so they fell apart easily, and the avocado was brown. For the price, that's way too many issues. The inside looked cool tho. View all feedback.
Lots of options, the Sesame Chicken looks and tastes a bit bottled teriyaki to me. However, the Sooner roll and Tori Katsu are delicious. Also, the Spiked Cherry Limeaide is legit!
One of the best Sushi restaurants we have visited ever in all our travels around the country.
Trying to describe my collective experience with this place over a period of like 10+ years. Overall, not great honestly, but I want to be fair. Historically, the service has not been great. Not overtly awful, but not what I would expect from any sit-down restaurant. That being said, I went a few weeks ago with people who go a LOT and are friends with some people there. Our service was decent then, but literally every other time I've been the service has been mediocre. As in having to ask for drink refills and/or absolutely bare-minimum attention from our waiter. Where my biggest critique lies is with the quality of the sushi. I have just always been disappointed in the quality of the sushi. Any place I go, if the sushi is good enough, that's enough for me to keep coming back. I'll get it to-go if I hate the service, nbd. But it's just okay. Nothing spectacular. Not critiquing the quality of the fish, but the sushi itself I'm just never really impressed with. I can go to Asiana Express and get rolls I know I'll drool over, and at a better price point. Not at Akira. I don't come here unless someone else wants to go. I understand people absolutely love this place, but I honestly don't get it.
Great service, delicious rolls. Apps were great, too. Would recommend for sure.
