Very big portions, three meals, fast and nice staff. We paid only 10eur menu, 2,5 bottle of sidra. A lot of people there but not too crawded ;

We arrived on a busy Friday night and although the waiter spoke little English he was kind and accommodating--even finding us a gluten-free dish! We enjoyed the hustle and bustle of this fun spot and it was part of a lovely cider-soaked evening in Oviedo.

I had one of the best meals I have had in Spain here for lunch yesterday. My husband chose the 5E sidra and tapas special and got a big bottle of cider and a huge sausage with fries and was happy. But I chose from the menu--and got my choice of water or wine, then an extra of a big bowl of vegetable soup that we served ourselves from (the waiter brought my husband a bowl too). A nice warm starter of broth and a few veggies. Then I got a huge bowl of very lovely yellow rice and about ten mussels for my first. Very good. But the best dish was my second. It was ribs (costillas) of pork. So tender and tasty--but with nice dark roasted parts as well. Really a large plate of them--with potatoes and salad. And then I still got my choice of desserts! I was so full and happy! And our whole bill was 15E! I definitely suggest it. The service was efficient and friendly.

I stopped in a light snack of cider and calamari. The waiter plunked the bottle of decent cider on the table and eventually returned with tasty but tepid squid. I paid the bill which was modest but had to make repeated requests for the change. Maybe just a bad day?

My husband and I were intrigued by their plat du jour offers and the fact that the place was jam-packed which according to my grandma, is always a good sign. We were quickly seated in the only available table for two and our orders were taken. This is a place locals go to. It is very small and the service is very efficient but hectic and hence less tourist and sensitive people friendly. Despite the fact that there were only 3 on the wait staff, no one had an empty nor dirty table. Plates were quickly whisked away when done and another waiter would swiftly appear with the next course. Overall, it was a different, chaotic but positive experience. 9.90 euros each for an appetizer, 2 courses, bread, dessert and coffee on a Sunday. On weekdays it's 8.50 and includes wine. We ordered a wine to go with the food and were thoroughly shocked when the bill came and the wine was jacked up at 7 euros and didn't taste any better than the wines normally included in weekday meals. In conclusion, plenty of good food for a great price. Just don't order the wine on weekends!
