The Wooden Spoon - Overland Park

I have eaten her several times. Food was always good. Today, when I got the scrambled tofu breakfast, it was tasteless. Worst scrambled tofu I ever had. The hash browns were barely brown or cooked. The bread was soggy and soaked in butter. When I called about it after I got home, I was told I could come get another order. Too far to drive back over there. I should have been offered a replacement breakfast next time I go there.

Our waiter was not knowledgeable about menu not very attentive. The other waiter was hustling like crazy but appeared to not have washed his hair in days. Food was ok.

What a wonderful little hidden gem! I was in Overland Park had a gift card to use so I thought I'd treat myself. The menu was a nice array of brunch items I decided on the caramel macchiato pancakes after the recommendation from my server Matt. Yummy! Perfect portion, even with a sausage patty not overly sweet. Matt appeared to be training someone doing a thorough job. Superb service food!

This is a small locally owned breakfast/lunch resturant. I have been here several times and the food is always good. It is small with few tables. I try and support local anytime I can. The last time we went we sat at the only available 4 top and even tho it had been cleaned it was still sticky. We were given menus and told he would be back. He brought food to several other tables ahead of us saying he would be back as he walked by. A couple walked in and he gave them menus and took thier drink order, brought the drinks and went onto other work all we still waited. When he finally came to us and took our drink order, brought drinks and said he would be back. He is a one man show, but come on!!! Our food was good, but I am not sure I want to come back.

Update this happened May 31st 2024. I should have mentioned that since the owners only comment was sorry we weren 't open today My brother picked me up from the airport and on my way to my destination we stopped here for breakfast. The guy serving everyone gave us menus and my brother asked for a cup of coffee. A few more customers come in and we see everyone else get their coffee. When the server got back to us to place our order I kindly reminded him that my brother still didn 't get his coffee. So he placed our order and we waited and watched other customers get their coffee for 40 mins. That 's when we decided to leave. I would like to give this place a chance so maybe next time I 'm in town.
