As a former resident of Kansas City, the first thing I wanted to try on a visit to the area was a Kansas City BBQ. The last one we had was pre-pandemic, and the memory of it was fixed to us all. We arrived about an hour before dinner; the place was quiet, and not many people were to eat what was to be expected. The service was pretty fast, but if we wanted burgers, we would have gone to MacDonalds. The mushroom side I ordered was extra crispy when I'm friendly. Probably a minute longer in the frit and I would have said burned. The burned ends were not what I could ever compare to what I had in Kansas City. For what we spent, I expected much better. According to the web search, when we approached the area, they had four and a half stars of five. Sorry, the portions were extra small. A ten-year-old would probably have done justice. Oh, and if you eat, don't sit on the windows. The design coming from the outside does not provide a comfortable meal. The girl who served us was pleasant enough, but she looked as if she was afraid of death, which would be the reaction to the food she served. The next time we're in Kansas City, we won't be eating Haywards, there are ways to many others who do much better and calculate much less. We won't be back.

I was often here through my life and always delicious. Some of the better bbq in KC especially when compared to the ridiculously fine restaurants bbq appears over Johnson County, which calculate twice as much for less taste and culture. Your professional answers to some of the equally ridiculously bad reviews here show you all take care of your food and your reputation, keep it up!

Wasn't in this place yet, but I was in your facility when you were in Lenexa a few years ago. I enjoyed the food, but can I make a suggestion, you should 't be ridiculous to make a customer like Malcolm for a negative review that's his choice. You should take the criticism professionally in Stride... apologize for his bad experience and ask for another chance. You should not insult the customer and blame him for his bad experience and that is what you did.. just a thought. They did not come together with the expression that the customer is always right for nothing because they actually offer your life. I couldn't give you another attempt because you reacted to Malcolm. Many other BBQ sites in KC want individuals business.

This place is an abomination to KC BBQ. If you enjoy Bland, soulless, unseasonal food, this is the place for you. I expect that I can experience joy (or at least some similarity of positive emotions) at eating BBQ. This food left me somewhere between apathetic and irate, not to mention, I legitimately thought I had commissioned COVID if I could taste something. This place could only be worse if they put raisins in the potato salad. If you?re the kind of person who thinks Mayo is spicy, that could be the place for you. For all others who think the culinary art of the BBQ should be an emotional and sensory exploration that at least lets you satisfy, save your money and go elsewhere.

Had the Variety Platter and the meat had nice smoke to it. Loved the beans and fries. Overall my main issue was the lack of seasoning if any on the meat. Was expecting some dry rub flavor but didn?t get that.
