Hotel Restaurant Ludenbach - Overath

Yet another truly superb meal. This time of us and the place was packed out. Service was still ok and the foiod absolutely My pals steak was the end of the fillet and a little over cooked for MR but other than that...we all said 'excellent'! I live in London but... I will be back! I have friends in the area and have recommended it worth the drive from Koln even!

We stayed four nights in the Hotel restaurant Ludenbach which is about from Cologne. the room was beautifully appointed with twin beds and a rollaway bed for our son. Extras includes hair dryer, bottled water, flat screen tv and iron. We enjoyed...a sumptuous buffet breakfast each morning with typical German cuisine cold meats, cheeses, and salads of eggs and meats in mayonnaise as well as the delicious variety of breads and continental breakfast items, juices, jams, ricotta cake, boiled eggs and tea and coffee. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was delicious, well presented and of the highest quality. We noticed there were regular locals who ate there as well as guests. The hotel is near the Freeway to Cologne and just a couple of minutes drive to the train station and the township of Overath. The hotel is flanked by farmland, forest and the river and only a short drive to a beautifully restored castle. The owners were so friendly and gave us maps and directions and suggestions for sightseeing and as we had to leave at to drive to Cologne for an early train to Berlin, they presented each of us with a take away breakfast for the trip. Each of the rooms has a lovely view either of the grounds, or the hills behind the hotel or over the fields. They have many family friendly amenities such as a bowling alley but we did not use any of these. The cost is most reasonable for the quality of the room and amenities available. One of the summer attractions is the evening outdoor bar and food available from a caravan type bar. Tables and chairs offer a relaxing place to sit and drink and talk to other travellers as well as locals who flock to the hotel each night. We will definitely be returning next year.

This hotel is quite nice and very clean. The locals say it was built originally by a farmer who had to sell his land for the auto route that is nearby. We thought the hotel pricing was very reasonable, and the breakfast was quite nice...with a very nice hostess who made for us café latte with espresso. Wwe will be glad to go back soon.

Beruflich war ich eine Woche im Hotel untergebracht. Die nicht modernisierten Zimmer sind gutbürgerlich gemütlich eingerichtet. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist klein aber fein. Das Highlight meines Aufenthaltes war jedoch das zum unschlagbaren Preis zum Zimmer hinzugebuchte 3-Gänge Menü. Bei Vor- und Hauptspeise konnte ich zwischen zwei Gerichten wählen. Gute Küche zu einem erschwinglichen Preis. Beigeisterung hat auch der sehr gute Service im Restaurant und an der Rezeption verursacht - zuvorkommend und freundlich. So, wie es eigentlich sein sollte, aber dennoch leider kaum noch der Fall ist.Normalerweise würde ich einen Punkt Abzug für die Zimmereinrichtung (etwas altmodisch) geben - bringe ich bei der Top Gesamtleistung aber einfach nicht über's Herz.
