Vanier Grill - Ottawa
Vanier Grill
Description
Despite mixed reviews, this diner-style restaurant seems to have a few standout dishes like club sandwiches and pizza. While the New York steak special received unfavorable feedback, the overall menu offers good value with tasty and filling options like trout, lasagna, and poutine. The atmosphere and service varied, ranging from a laid-back vibe to attentive waitstaff. The breakfast items were a highlight, featuring delicious eggs and fried potatoes, though the deep-fried French toast may not be for everyone. With a mix of positive and negative experiences, this restaurant is worth a try for its diverse menu and friendly service.

This restaurant is a fantastic choice for breakfast. Their potatoes are the best in town.
The breakfast was excellent. The waitress was humorous and welcoming. The only downside was being charged a fee for using a bank card to settle the bill for my meal.
The food was tasty, but the experience was not great. The waitress informed us that the restaurant would be closing in 30 minutes, which made us feel rushed. They close at 1pm on Sundays, and it was uncomfortable to have the staff cleaning around us and watching our table closely. Overall, not a pleasant breakfast experience.
The food is amazing, and the staff is very welcoming. The breakfast potatoes are the best you'll find in the city!
