I ordered the suicide burger with a side salad, while my boyfriend opted for a chicken ciabatta with fries. The burger was fantastic! It was certainly not your typical frozen pub burger; you could tell it was made fresh on-site and cooked just before being served. The name “suicide burger” might suggest it’s extremely spicy, but I found it to have just the right amount of heat. While it did come with plenty of jalapeños and banana peppers, it wasn't overwhelmingly spicy. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken ciabatta as well; the chicken was nicely seasoned, and the bread was fresh—not stale like you sometimes find in places at night. They were a bit stingy with the fries, though; there were enough on the plate, but they looked a bit sparse. We sat towards the back of the pub, but if we return for food or drinks in the future, we might choose one of the cozy booths near the entrance or sit in the bar area. However, this visit was really just a quick eat-and-run. We needed food, and we got it. The service was good: quick and unobtrusive, and I think the manager even came by to check on us while we were eating. Bank Street isn’t an area we frequent for dining or drinks, but if we find ourselves there again in the future, this place would be a top consideration.
The food service was frustrating, as we waited an hour for our meal. A rating of 3 might even be generous.
