Roasted Cafe - Ottawa

Finally a breakfast option closer to the north side of town!! We went on Sunday morning for breakfast and this place has so much potential! Sunday is breakfast only and breakfast was good. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage. The B&G needed to be seasoned better but the bacon was fantastic. No paper bacon at this place! The pancakes are huge and lovely. They have Danish options as well and they look yummy. Soon they will be opening a tea and coffee self serve bar that sounds awesome!! Overall this is going to be one of our frequently visited places.

Negatives first: I asked for a medium well egg and my egg yolk was very runny, I hope they change their breakfast platter to one pancake and two eggs instead of vice versa because the pancakes are very large (too big to finish for me) and a single egg just isn't enough. Positives: relaxing atmosphere, great service, the steak and eggs looked great so I'll have to try them next time. I plan to return soon Lord willing.

Roasted Cafe is a welcoming cozy restaurant. Big, roomy booths and uncrowded table seating make dining comfortable. The owners are on site and the service is excellent. Generous servings of cafe favorites comprise the menu. They always offer specials for breakfast and dinner and a soup of the day. Their gigantic cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing are delicious and they offer several other dessert options. We especially enjoy the atmosphere at breakfast. They are offering curbside pick-up during covid-19

Tried to call and make a To-go order.The phone rang once and went to voicemail.I left a message stating I wanted to make an order but no return call .This is the third time in two months that something like this has happened .Not sure if I'm gonna keep doing the Hey we are open but not gonna answer the phone to take an order game .Not to mention when I do successfully make contact and order something with someone,when I go to pick it up I usually spend around 5-10 minutes before I'm even greeted.It seems a little to much to go thru to pay for a cold overpriced but somewhat tasty burrito.Bottomline is... #1 if you want my loyal repeat bussiness...answer the phone...#2 greet your guests in a timely fashion, not just when they are ringing up a table...and #3 if you can't do #1 and #2....cut your cost of $11.00 a burrito(roughly cost after $2 dollar tip) in half.After all the gripes I will still be in every 2-3 months instead of every week with my $35 burrito order.
