Japanese food. Organic, mostly local produce. Macrobiotic, vegan, egg, dairy, and meat offerings. Food is light and healthy. A little expensive. Great view of Lake Biwa. Outdoor seating available in summer. Food is light but more filling than you would think. If you have a big appetite, don't go here. Meals will satiate those with light or average appetites. One of my American friends complained she wasn't full. My Japanese friends were happy. I also was satisfied. I recommend the macrobiotic set lunch. Dinner plates are good, but I really like the lunch set.

A star for the local staff, and one for the location, that 's it. In short; over priced, simple without any advertised choices available, and left hungry. In particular; I was hoping for the choices shown here on Gmaps, though at arriving was presented with a couple set lunches without say, sandwiches, egg benedict or anything else. Essentially, no choices. The sets themselves were the incredibly common affair you find in vogue recently, having small patches of food dropped around the plate in a weak attempt to seem fashionable. The taste was a good B- but would of preferred one good dish that could stand on its own, instead of bunch of small ones that definitely couldn 't. This can only be a sign of laziness from the chefs, and simply not having any other choices was unforgivable. The cake though was very nice, if not oddly overly decorated, another weird decision from the kitchen most likely lacking in skill or confidence. And sadly worst of all, it was burnt! Very disappointing. And yes, overpriced to boot. The front staff though were very nice, and the location was great therefore I say you should make a picnic, and just enjoy the public area.
