Delightful family-run restaurant. Friendly staff. Welcoming atmosphere. Traditional, authentic dishes. We really enjoyed the vegetarian appetizer with excellent vegetables. First courses include homemade tagliatelle, which reflect a genuine flavor. Highly recommended!
For a family gathering, between aunts and nephews, we chose Otricoli because it's almost halfway between Rome and Perugia, and booked lunch at Nerafera. We couldn't have made better choices! Otricoli is a fantastic village, rich in history, where people still greet you as they pass you in the street, and the Nerafera restaurant is spectacular! Extremely kind staff, a warm and comfortable atmosphere, and stellar food with generous portions. My only regret is that I didn't leave a tip, but only by mistake; they definitely deserved it. Next time, I'll double the tip.
We ate very well, with authentic, genuine flavors. The staff was very kind and friendly. Unfortunately, it's closed during the week, otherwise we would definitely have returned.
I went to Otricoli today, a gray Saturday in March, to see the ruins of the ancient Roman city. Having had the opportunity to pass through this medieval village, I was struck by the entrance to the restaurant, which was closed at the time. When they found it open, my wife and daughter entered without a reservation. The setting was charming, with a fireplace in the middle of the room, open on both sides. It warmed us while we ate. The menu was very interesting and different from the usual. Everything was excellent, from the gnocchi to the Roman-style artichokes. The mothers were in the kitchen, serving their children. In short, truly family-style cuisine and hospitality. Having read that the building was built on a Roman cistern, we asked to see it. And we were greeted with attentiveness and satisfaction by one of the daughters. In short, 5 stars and more. We'll be back.
