We also had dinner here twice while we were staying here, which were excellent. There is no menu, but all is explained easily and we had a huge platter of vegetarian starters to share, followed by various pasta in different sauces, all with their own produce, and even a couple of scrummy desserts! What saranLondon doesn't like about Podere San Michele:
This was an Agriturusmo on an industrial scale: heaving with locals in sequins and wedgy high heels. ALL of whom seemed to be embraced by the staff. Plus many visitors, mostly holidaying Italians from Naples and the odd neglected and cross Brit from Chiswick. This isn't the 5 star restaurant that some older reviews suggest. Although the waiters, and owner, were friendly everything about it was average. This is a simple affair down a quiet road in the middle of nowhere. The drinks menu is very limited no spirits, a couple of beers (in fairness the St Benoit was very good) and then soft drinks or wine. But all three courses were frankly a little disappointing, with the pizza the most as we were hoping for crispy stone baked thin crust Italian, and just got a greasy doughy very cheesy pizza like from a normal takeaway. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing was particularly good either.
Average countryside restaurant pretty setting, but beware the mosquitos near the lake) Good local food , service a bit hit miss one of our main courses arrived long after we’d finished the others . Good home made desserts .
Food was very nicely presented and tasted delicious. Staff were very friendly, attentive and explained the dishes to us. It’s a beatiful setting and quite reasonably priced.
We really loved this place. Food is excellent , specially the big pizza and pasta was also great. all were very friendly and very nice location . We went twice !
We were looking for a good pizza restaurant. Our hotel told us we should go here for good pizza. The staff was really friendly. The Bread on the table was really tasty. As a starter we had the caprese. Perfect Therafter we had 40cm pizza with the 2 of us. It was perfect as well. The meals going to the other tables looked great as well. So we Will be coming back to try some other things from the menu.
