Situated on a broad terrace overlooking the beaches of Otranto, this restaurant is an inspired oasis after walking the steep, twisted, and narrow streets of this medieval city. The antipasto di mare, pasta alle vongole and the gamberi rossi are unbeatable. The setting, view and service are also first rate. What Dream64851949254 doesn't like about Balconcino Sul Mare:
Please for your sake run away from this location. I mean the reviewed place is probably changed the name but the menu and and the service are the same. All frozen products served in a worst way. Trap is the magnificent view of the Otranto. Very rare bad experience to try in this region. View all feedback.

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to a great seafood experience in Otranto, but unfortunately we were super unlucky with this place. Looked super nice with cozy light, but the food was terrible and even the coffee tasted really bad. We would not recommend this place.
Vile. Tomatoes in the salad were floury. Tomatoes in pasta were over ripe, nearly rotten. Calamari was undercooked and rubbery. Fish was unseasoned, dry and had burnt bits of some other food from the grill stuck to it. Pasta too salty. Gordon Ramsay would have a field day.

Lunch with friends by the sea, but it was only when going upstairs to the toilet that we realised we had missed a trick by not eating upstairs on the second floor balcony which has a superb sea view over the fishing harbour. We had a light lunch amongst the company we had clam linguine, langoustine linguine and swordfish steak. All beautifully cooked and washed down with some local Puglian wine.
