Yet hunger and the late hour compelled us... read more We stumbled upon this unassuming trattoria just beyond the city walls, its empty dining room initially gave us pause. Yet hunger and the late hour compelled us to stay. What fortune. We ordered the Tagliolini al nero di seppia and the Chitarrine alle vongole. Both dishes featured fresh pasta that clung to their respective sauces, each a liquid ode to the sea and generous portions of seafood (the vongole came heaped with nearly thirty clams). Not far from the overtrodden paths of the old town, come not for spectacle, but for honest, excellent seafood pasta.

I was thinking it looked lovely but my goodness that first mouthful. My sister and I were the only people there that night. Which was very surprising considering how great the food was. It made our last night in Otranto a special occasion. My sincerest thanks to the chef/owner.

The restaurant is... read more We found it while searching for an open restaurant, so by chance... We loved everything about it. The manager was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is in a historic setting, updated and charming. Generous portions, but above all, excellent food.
