I arrived at the restaurant around 10:00am and encountered a young lady who seemed hesitant to serve me. Despite my persistence, she displayed annoyance and spoke in a condescending manner. When I inquired about the meat options for a sandwich, she rudely mentioned bologna as the only option. In an effort to avoid further confrontation, I ordered a steak sandwich. However, the young lady continued to be disrespectful while preparing my meal, overcooking the meat and bread. When I mentioned the issue with the bread, she reacted defensively. Eventually, she agreed to remake the sandwich, but the entire experience left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Based on my extensive experience in the hospitality industry, I believe this behavior stemmed from prejudice rather than a bad day. The restaurant's unfriendly atmosphere was evident from the moment I walked in, and I regretted making a purchase. She made me a poorly cooked steak sandwich and reacted unprofessionally when I pointed out the issues. I ended up not paying for the sandwich and left feeling unwelcome. My extensive experience in the culinary and hospitality industry tells me that her behavior was unacceptable. The atmosphere at the restaurant made it clear that they did not want Black customers there. The average price per person is $10-20.

The young lady working there seemed to be avoiding me, but I persisted and asked about the meats served on the cold cut sandwich. She rudely replied that it was only bologna. I ordered a steak sandwich to avoid further confrontation. The sandwich was overcooked and poorly made. When I mentioned the bread was too hard, she reacted unprofessionally. Despite her attempts to make it right, I decided to leave without paying. I felt discriminated against and unwelcome from the moment I entered the restaurant. My extensive experience in the hospitality industry allows me to recognize when I am being mistreated because of my race. This experience in upstate New York was disappointing and unacceptable.

I went to this restaurant around 10:00am, and encountered disrespectful behavior from a young lady working there. She seemed to be avoiding serving me, and when I asked about the options for a sandwich, she responded rudely. The sandwich she made was poorly cooked and she showed a lack of professionalism throughout the interaction. I decided not to pay for the sandwich due to the poor quality and attitude of the staff. It was clear to me that there was a racial undertone to the way I was treated. In my 30 years of experience in the food and hospitality industry, I have never encountered such blatant discrimination. The atmosphere in the restaurant was unwelcoming from the moment I walked in. This type of behavior has no place in Upstate New York.
