The very good food, but the price of three mini-tapas
This local tapas bar is on the main town square next to the town hall. Though it offers a Menu del día (starter, main course, dessert, wine or beer and coffee) at €8, its main claim to fame is its wide range of tapas which are available throughout the day. The tapas include frogs legs, pigs ' ears, chicken wings, prawns and salmon rolls (there are over 40 on offer including items suitable for vegetarians). In addition the bar offers sandwiches, as well as paellas and roasts to take away if you are staying in one of the local Casas Rurales (holiday cottages/gites) . This is very much a local bar and the bar area tends to get very full around lunchtime, though there is nearly always room on the shaded terrace in the front. In the height of summer, this can be quite warm, but is an excellent spot for watching village life. There is also an air conditioned dining room at the first floor level available for private functions. As I live in the village for part of the year, I have often eaten here and have always found the meals good value. The owners permit dogs on the terrace, but, as is usual in Spain (it is actually against the law), dogs are not permitted inside. There is a good free wifi connection and the ladies toilet is spotless. Being a village bar, the gents is well used, but acceptable. Parking is easy and if you have a dog, this bar restaurant is recommended on grounds of location, quality and price. This bar also does evening meals.
