The guy on the door didn't allow me to enter it when I show him my passport. His argumentation was that he cannot allow a Greek enter the club as they always go around with fake documents.My drivers license, my credit card and the fact that I am 30 years old, were not enough to persuade him that I am an adult...

As the experience... read more I will be keeping this review as unaffected by personal feelings as possible. And I have therefore chosen to give it two stars instead of one. As the experience was mostly negative, I will be starting off with the negatives. This bar has a big issue with its bouncers or security. They have a clear superiority complex, if I may say so. The bar and the hosting group had come to an agreement of a certain price for the entry ticket, and out of the blue, the bouncers added 33% on to the entry fee. And when the hosts came and tried to correct this, the bouncers kicked the hosts out of their own party. Absolutely childish behavior and definitely not something one would wish to see from those who are supposed to “keep you safe”. Furthermore, one of the bouncers had some questionable behavior. Mainly standing incredibly close to two girls (with less than 5 cm of room from their backs). It visibly made them uncomfortable. I am unsure if these problematic bouncers are from another company, or if they are encouraged to act this way by John’s bar, however, one can only speculate. The night was redeemed to a certain degree by the caring bartenders and a nicely designed interior. A low rating is required nonetheless, as such childish behavior is uncalled for. Would not recommend hosting in this bar for any occasion whatsoever.
