I missed having a nice diner to go to that is reasonably priced and not in hipster central (i.e., the nighhawk diner). Galgen fulfills that need and then some b... read more I missed having a nice diner to go to that is reasonably priced and not in hipster central (i.e., the nighhawk diner). Galgen fulfills that need and then some by being in a charming neighborhood and a local haunt. The staff are super friendly and the food is exactly what one would expect from a diner in an up and coming city (Like Portland before being discovered). The atmosphere makes it a great place to hangout and the patio feels like its ready to host a cookout.

However, it... read more We just went here on a random occasion. First we went to the pub down the street to eat, but they didn't serve food. So, we were guided to this one. However, it wasn't much either. My wife ordered the pulled-pork sandwich. That was a disappointment. As the fries was over-cooked, burger-bread on the sandwich. When the menu stated another sort of bread. So, a bit of laziness there, I suppose. I had a gazta tarta, which wasn't to bad. A decent serving and nothing to pin my fingre on. The place itself was beautiful and cozy. The back-garden was a gem in the area. We just hoped for more. My wife was hungry and had to eat. So, the rest of us just had smaller items. That's why I only had a cake. It could have been better. Just not it really.

The atmosphere is laid back with great service, friendly staff, and locals frequenting the place. The food is delicious and they even have a nice backyard.

I hope they work on improving it. Thankfully, they have other dishes that are much better, which is why I gave them a score of 3.
