Was Anonym at Ippudo Umeda a mag?
This is the best place in Osaka. I come every time I'm in Osaka. I eat the original with a red pepper paste that is akamaru type. It is not so spicy and you must also choose the tenderness of the noodle. I added more Veggies to me. I asked to keep the pig (Kashu) for my son because he's not crazy about Chashu. The best ramen in Osaka I have beaten everywhere and sits comfortably in my top five ramen places. There is no English menu, but the staff speaks perfectly English. You will pretend you are in New York and act as if you have some eggs and are not afraid to order.

One thing you can always count on in Japan is a supreme level of consistency, especially across chains. Ippudo tastes like Ippudo no matter where you are in Japan; that classic tonkotsu broth can be found anywhere in the country as well, and sometimes you just need to know what you're getting into. Nothing special about this one, or any of them for that matter, but it still reigns as one of my favorite consistent ramenya. if only it tasted like this in the US locations...

Excellent ramen with fresh noodles generous portions. Price was very reasonable. Service was quick with lots of people eating inside so its a very popular ramen chain. My favorite is the special combo with the fried dumplings for $1500 JPY.. We love the fried dumplings. Would come back recommend this place to others. They take credit card thankfully! :

Service was fast and efficient. English menu available. ready, during peak hours my favorite ramen chain restaurant consistency good in any broth was rich and tasteful, noodle cooked as I wanted, soft boiled egg perfectly made, bite size gyoza was good. delicious!!

Arrived about 8.30pm and was a line down the stairs to the door. The line moved quickly and nearer the door you were given a menu and ordering slip to enable quicker service. The restaurant is small with seating only at the bar. I had a grape sour and spicy black ramen and SO had a beer and special black ramen. The special ramen had an umami taste and a lot of fat (richness) to the broth. I wasn’t a big fan of it, but I really enjoyed the spicy black ramen. It had some oil in the broth but no fat sitting on the surface. The noodles were thin you can only have a standard level of firmness with the black ramen. The kaedama noodles were a little firmer, which we preferred. We ordered the flavoured soft boiled egg on top and it was VERY soft. Like a yolk that had been briefly dunked too slimy for me. I was hoping for the brownish soft boiled egg with firm white and dark yolk. There were 3 different types of egg on the menu and on reflection we should have ordered different ones. Perhaps the salted egg was what we were after? I asked for no chashu, but got it anyway not too bothered, I just lift it out. I also added green onion and kikugare, both were plentiful. Service was fast and staff were friendly with some english. The grape sour was nice enough but a bit sweet tasted like liquified grape gobstoppers. I prefer the other Ippudo in Namba, but it was still enjoyable.
