What a beautiful resort! Rooms and grounds were very clean! Jacuzzi and sauna were great! Event center had lots of games and things to do! Definitely a place to check out. We plan a return visit in the future. Close to Itasca State Park too. Many water features through the grounds contribute to a peaceful environment. There's a new campground there. And for entertainment, a volleyball court, basketball court, axe thr... View all feedback.
What Kara Schumann doesn't like about Jack Pines Resort:
We had a disappointing experience. Hope they do better next time. Our waitress was not well trained, the food wasn't cooked properly (3 entrees and 2 appetizers). The bartender did a great job but the waitress was not timely.Rooms: 5/5 View all feedback.
Beautiful, clean campgrounds and cabins. Had a family reunion here and we had a super good time. Huge hot tub and very nice game room. You can tell the owners and staff have a lot of love for this place, and it shows. I wish I lived closer, I would come more often.Rooms: 5/5
Sadly, it's terrible and the worst possible dining experience I've had in years. Despite arriving at opening, the food on the buffet was cold. And by cold, I mean uncooked hash browns, room temp. sausage. The guy cooking omelets either didn't have the right pans or didn't know how to cook them, so... dry, scrambled eggs. The buffet setup is such that you go through the line, loading your plate and then get to to the omelet and waffle station. Then you wait in the back corner of the room for 3 4 minutes or more waiting for your order. So... your food gets colder and the line behind you gets impatient. To get syrup or rock hard butter, you have to cut back into the line. The syrup bottle has a stopper so it's a trickle coming out... as your waffle gets cold.Other buffet items chicken seemed leftover and rewarmed, coffee cake was tasteless and dry, dessert bar was rock hard and stale. Self serve beverages lukewarm coffee and juice in cans. To sum it up, cold and uncooked food, no service other than a staffer clearing plates. No proper food safety measures like sneeze guards or individual silverware were present. The staff was disorganized, poorly trained and provided zero service not even coffee or water. This was not worth the $20 we each paid, it was more terrible than the worst hotel breakfast I've ever had. We're a local group of 5 who truly wanted to support a local business, but we won't be back and can't recommend
We had a great time! Friendly, helpful staff, clean bathrooms, and showers. There's a hot tub and sauna. Complimentary towels, firewood, bean bags, and other recreational options. Resort had a side by side for rent. Access to trails right off the resort. Will definitely be back. #glamplife #camping #Minnesota many more great options must give it a try 10 out of 10 :
The Cookhouse has gone so far down hill I was shocked! Nine of the 11 in my group were super disappointed with their food. Slow service, Greasy pasta, undercooked chicken breast, salad with what was supposed to be raspberry vinaigrette dressing.. pure soy sauce for the dressing. The diner didn't realize that until it was already poured in the salad. Chicken strawberry salad.. dressing was terrible too. Chicken Alfredo dish was noodles, chicken and buttery yucky sauce with zero parmesan cheese. Had to ask for dinner rolls that were supposed to be with the salad entrees. A request for cheese curds as a sub for fries cost $10 extra and was absolutely NOT a full order or prepared correctly. We were told there was a new manager and a new chef... I vote they both take a hike. Either way, never going back.
This resort is a hidden gem!! We stayed in the campground and another couple we were with stayed in a cabin. Everyone there extremely friendly and accommodating. We ate supper there the first night and my husband and the other couple we were with are still raving about the duck wings!! The menu was so unique and the drinks menu was amazing....try the campfire cocktail! The grounds are beautiful and even more stunning at night when they are all lit up. They are right in the middle of many many miles of trail systems right off of their grounds....we spent 6 hours on the Smokey Hills State Forest trail system and it was great! The cabins are super cute and very cozy. We used the hot tub and true to it 's name it was HOT!The only suggestion that we would have for them is to update their website as the photos of the grounds and cabins do not do this place justice. Our friends did not know what to expect with the cabin they rented because the pictures were not great, but it EXCEEDED anything they could have expected. Also, on the website it says that the hot tub is coming soon ...need to update that it is there. All in all we WILL be back many times in the future!
