I’ve only eaten here twice and found by coincidence, however, this place is amazing! Love the food and atmosphere! Able to get a good lunch and catch up on work. In addition, the decor is great if you love shabby chic country. View all feedback.
A friend told us about this place and it was a good choice! It's a nice quiet place that is so cozy and unique. The food is a great variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts. I'm an avocado and bacon fan, so I had the turkey, bacon, and avocado panini sandwich with chips. The fruit choice is good option. There's a good variety of sandwiches and the dip is a good difference also. Good staff too. I do recommend this place for sure!!!
We ate at this small restaurant with family on a recent day trip to Osage beach based upon the suggestion of a local family member. It is fairly small and located on the back side of a small strip mall. Fortunately our GPS led us right to us. We had a group of six. The menu is relatively small and consists mainly of hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, various large salads, soups and deserts. I had the hot turkey and bacon sandwich which I found to be large and tasty. I also had good reports from the other members of our group, including those who ordered the soup. I found eating at this low key restaurant to be a refreshing change from eating at fast food or larger establishments and will certainly consider eating there again next time I’m at the Lake of the Ozarks/Osage Beach.
First time here. Recommended by the locals who usually know the best places to go. For a small place, had a fairly varied menu. I had the turkey/cheese/bacon/avocado spread panini with sweet potato chips. Very good. The spread was a nice touch. The other person had a turkey/cheese/salami/bacon sandwich with fruit. Also very good. They offer take out and family versions. We come to the lake often and didn’t know this place existed. Open M-Friday 11-3, post season.
Paint Box Cafe is on the backside of the Palisades, and it is easy to miss even though they are on a marquee on the expressway side of the Palisades building. I've eaten there several times. It's a small place, you order at the counter and draw your own beverage. They have an eclectic array of tables and chairs. The atmosphere is comfy and relaxed. Bridge clubs and other groups often meet there. Today I decided to try the Hentrietta, chicken salad on their house made cranberry walnut bun served with a choice of sides of chips, sweet potato chips or fruit. The chicken salad was very good, with white meat chicken, eggs and grapes. The cranberry walnut bun makes the sandwich on the larger size, but it is very good.
We are locals, so we try all the places in town. We have found THE BEST place to eat lunch. GREAT sandwiches. We had turkey w/cream cheese, pepper relish on a cranberry walnut roll. A really good chicken salad w/ egg and grapes. And a fabulous meatloaf w/ colby jack cheese and bacon on whole wheat. Golly, were they GOOD. Come, eat, enjoy.
