Great location, great food, amazing sangria as were the croquettes de cassa. Good value for money. Passing thru.
Had a nice three course meal of seafood soup, croquettes, and flan for €10. Service was speedy and food tasty. Nice outdoor seating in plaza mayor.
We went there as it seemed to be the only option in the village on a weekday. We both took a racion for 15 euro each. My girlfriend got for this 3(! fried croquetas. I took the cochinillo, what was in the end just a bunch of fried bones with a little bit meat on, together with a little bit potatoes and green peppers. Best thing were those green peppers. (The peppers were really tasty! However in other places in the region you can eat way better.... (For example La taperia in Zafra is way cheaper and way better. Don't know what it is with this place but it seems to be a perfect example of a tourist trap. Avoid if you can. Maybe in summer the atmosphere on the terrace can compensate the food. We paid in total 30 euro for our food. In a normal Spanish place you would pay 10 euro to get a similar quality. If this is the only place open, as a tourist better go to the parador. At least price/quality of the food will be better.
We visited Oropesa in March, which means no tourists. I guess only two or three restaurants were open. We stopped here for drinks. Bartender knows his business, made a good cocktail for the lady and wine for me. Drinks were reasonably priced. There was two customers watching soccer. Restaurant has seats also outside, must be really nice at summer, nobody sat outside in the March.
