This was probably the best tasting Hibachi I ever had!!!! This is the Gist of him, besides that the restaurant decoration is very good, and the original server was very attentive, therefore in giving 3 stars instead of 2 or 1). The cook was either inexperienced or was not really important, but regardless of the excuses he used 2 eggs and about 2 tablespoons of soy sauce to cook fried rice for 10 people, the shrimps w... I ordered takeout from here for the first time last night and was really disappointed with the portion sizes. The amount of vegetables I received was less than a full serving, even though I ordered an extra side of veggies just in case. There were only about six small pieces of steak. I took this photo right after getting home, and what you see in the takeout container is what I’d have left over if I had eaten in the restaurant. It certainly wasn't worth $35. On the bright side, the food was hot.
One aspect that stands out is the limited selection of vegetables; they only offer zucchini, mushrooms, and onions. This feels somewhat underwhelming when compared to other similar establishments that typically include broccoli, carrots, and more. It seems like Takeya is skimping on variety in this area. Additionally, I've often found the portion sizes lacking, but during my most recent visit, they overloaded the rice, perhaps trying to give the impression of better value with rising prices. I ordered the dumpling appetizer, which cost $8.95 and left me hugely disappointed by the small size (only four dumplings) and quantity. I certainly wouldn’t order this again, especially if you’re looking for something to share between two people — this is not the right choice. As for the hibachi experience, it was almost nonexistent. Our chef performed little more than the onion volcano and did not engage with us much at all. There were no flashy knife tricks, egg tossing, or any of the classic hibachi performances that you might expect. In the ten times I’ve been here, I’ve rarely seen any chef provide an entertaining show. Despite these drawbacks, I do find the food to be consistently tasty, which is why I keep coming back when I want hibachi and don’t have many other nearby options. Our total for dinner for two, an appetizer, and a soda was $78.
We always prefer sitting at the bar. It's a delightful and delicious experience. The sake is larger than you might expect!
The service was good not the best! Sushi was amazing , my husband and I stopped in for our random date night hoping to get a spot at the hibachi grill but the wait was just crazy long! Love the atmosphere, the ambiance and the decor! Nice spot for a date night, girls night or birthday.
First time I ever caught salmonella… My husband and I went there for my birthday dinner 3 nights ago. I’m 6 months pregnant and I ordered some seafood. Shrimp, scallops, and lobster. Everything tasted good to us so far. My husband ordered some sushi but ordered one of the cooked crab sushi dishes for me to try. We made sure everything had to be cooked because I am pregnant. The next day I was in so much pain and having diarrhea. Didn’t think anything of it. The day after that I was in the ER and was told I had salmonella. I had barely eaten anything since eating here that night because of loss of appetite so I know for a fact it was the food from here that I caught it from… I can say I will never be returning here which is such a disappointment because we really enjoy a good hibachi restaurant…
