What ItalyMar doesn't like about La Cantine:
Small restaurant with few tables downstairs and too many tables (20 places? upstairs in a small dining room. Many customers choose pizzas but the duck and the salmon we chose were good as well. Unfortunately when all tables are occupied there is no air upstairs in that small dining room without AC and with the small windows closed. The overall experience was average. The service was nice and fast with no rush. The beer selection is poor but they have nice wine options. Covid dispositions are strong and politely enforced. We all had pizzas, which are below average. The dough is fine, but the quality of the ingredients is low. Way too much cheese, very greasy, you should go for a basic one, hoping they will switch to an homemade tomato sauce.
We have just eaten at the restaurant and was a very bad esperience! Italian was only the name, not the ingredients or the recipes. Waiter very nervous and unpleasent. Not suggested!
A good pizzeria in the middle of an old orleans. Salads are as often a little too expensive. just the service that remains to be improved at the reception level that is too expedient to my taste.
Had dinner at La Cantine after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Not disappointed. The pizzas were as Italian as they could be (en France!!), very thin and delicious and cooked in a wood burning oven. Lovely aspect if seated outside but the interior is charming too. Staff very attentive and prices quite reasonable too.
Pizzas cooked to perfection, a lot of choice! waiters are friendly and professional, we just waited 5 minutes to have a table despite our reservation, this was quickly forgotten in front of our plates!
