Before I even walked in, I was greeted by a very friendly employee, once I walk in the host greeted me and was so helpful kind. We ordered to-go but while we were there, our experience was 10/10 a awesome. Such nice people, such awesome food, the miso soup is AMAZING !! View all feedback.
What Bre K doesn't like about Amura Downtown:
Ordered ramen and gyoza. The ramen had pickled ginger in it that I did not want and I never got my egg in it that is was supposed to come with. Also the noodles taste like they are the freeze dried noodles in cheap ramen packs. The broth has literally no taste at all. The gyoza was burnt. I asked for extra sauce and never got it. Not worth the money AT ALL!! Go somewhere else! View all feedback.
While I could spend a lot of time describing their sushi offerings in detail, just take a look at the menu photo, and you'll see some unique and enticing choices. I especially loved the New Orleans roll—it's not every day you find fresh crawfish at a sushi place! Overall, this is a fantastic spot for a delicious meal. However, I must offer some constructive criticism: with only three or four tables occupied, the service was a bit on the slow side. That said, I'm definitely looking forward to visiting again.
Was overall quite impressed with this restaurant, and am very puzzled as to why this restaurant isn 't ranked higher in their Yelp ratings? Our server Ryan was a sweetheart, the food was pretty good and there 's a free bottle of quality Sake with the Yelp check in. So honestly, what is there not to like? I had tickets to see a performance of Fun House at the Mad Cow Theater which is located upstairs from this restaurant , and normally seeing the 3 stars rank on Yelp would not have picked this restaurant as our pre dinner theater option. But this was the place chosen by my fellow theater goers and I entered on sufferance and loved that I walked out, pleasantly surprised! My co diners got the Katsu Dinner chicken and the Chicken Teriyaki Dinner. The Katsu dinner was inhaled very quickly and the person who ordered it said she loved the taste. The Chicken Teriyaki got a verdict of pretty good as well. For my dinner choices, I got the veggie Eden Roll $9 and the Tonkatsu Ramen 12.50 . I loved the crunchiness and the smoothness of the Eden roll. I don 't know what all the veggies that were in the roll, but the avocado cucumber lettuce flavours was predominant. Each bite was crisp and very cool no muddling of taste, which I appreciated. My Tonkatsu Ramen broth had that lovely white sheen that you can only find with the real thing, however I do think there could be deeper depth of flavour. I loved the unctuousness of the pork belly in the ramen it had all the crispy, fatty, oil taste that you want. The soft boiled egg too nailed it.. but.. but... I wanted just a wee bit more veggies. Some mushrooms or seaweed would have been awesome to compliment the bean sprouts scallions. My total cost for dinner was $25 and change including tip . BTW a special shout out for their Wasabi. This stuff was hot and threatened to take off my head a couple of times with its spiciness. Am glad got to try this place out, and will definitely return and recommend low Yelp ranking non standing! . Yelp 99/2018 Yay! 1 more review to go and then I 've hit my goal 100 new places that I have tried and Yelped about in 2018!
This place is located right downtown in church st. The food is good and so is the service. Nice place for a date night.
A friend and I checked out Amura around 11:30 am beating the lunch crowd by a good 15 20 minutes. The atmosphere is really interesting. There was upbeat club like music playing in the background, and it is pretty dimly lit. It's pretty intimate. The place isn't really big, considering that it's downtown. Our server, Zoey, was really great and thorough. I thought the food was decent. I ordered the shrimp shumai, which was fair. I wouldn't compare it to any of the restaurants in town that serve dim sum. My friend got one of the lunch bento boxes, which has a good portion. They usually come with a salad, spring roll, veggies, and rice. Some of the lunch bento bowls don't come with the spring roll. I spotted a sign for ramen in the corner by the bar and asked about it. Overall, it was decent. I wouldn't say it was the best bowl of ramen I've had in the Orlando area, but it hit the spot. There was just one egg, and I was hoping for pork belly but got pork katsu. I've found my spot to order ramen from because I can walk from my office. If you don't work downtown, I'm not sure where you'd park because there's only a few parking garages nearby. I'm not sure if they validate parking. Otherwise, you'd need to find a public parking lot or street parking. It's worth a shot, especially if you're craving Japanese food.
Everyone is very friendly. The staff even uses Japanese greetings and will also thank you in Japanese. Very competent and professional. You feel like an honorary guest. Well, most people do not know that it has been under new management for several years. Because if the recent menu has been changed and much has changed, but it is the best. The new articles taste amazing! They even go as far as to make a lot of articles of scratches, like gyoza and noodles. You're in the middle of a name change soon. Watch Orlando! Kaizen Izakaya is on the go!!! As for food, the fish is some of the most freshest in Orlando. You can really say that they use good quality fish in their sushi. It is never frozen and some even imported. They even go so far that they have high-quality cooking specialities. Although I think my favorite part is the presentation. The chefs make sure you feel very special with their presentation and decoration. You can say that everyone is proud of his work and the food they send out. Definitely a great place to eat and highly recommended!!! Perfect for date nights or groups!
