Ray Fish - Orihuela

We visited this restaurant recently and initially we were looking forward to trying a new restaurant. The waitress didn't know anything about any of the menu dishes and eventually the owner/chef/head cook/barman arrived and sang his own praises about how he could cook the fish/steak any way we preferred and could make delicious rue and sauce etc! We ordered our food and waited at least 40 minutes for a prawn starter during which time the people at the table next to us sent back their soup saying it was like dishwater! They then waited for main course with their elderly hungry mother and eventually left without eating we waited 1 hour and 50 minutes for our main course, 3 steaks and a grilled fish....appalling service. When our food arrived it was bland, tasteless and the veg and potatoes were awful. As for the white pepper sauce with bits floating in it, I dread to think!!!!! The waitress did not set the table and we had to ask for cutlery when food arrived....seriously!!The owner did not apologise for the delay and was quite indignant and arrogant and actually thought we should be grateful that he had even cooked for us we found out pretty quickly that he was too busy entertaining his own family and kids inside the restaurant and didn't give a damn about his new customers! When I asked him what had caused the delay (there was no one else there, only his family) he said I can't talk I am very busy!!!! In summary this guy is not a chef and is winging it as a restaurateur and hoping that by being the new owner will magically give him amazing culinary skillsIt was a complete disaster, food was awful and the owner even worse. There are lots of good restaurants in the area so do yourself a favour and give this one a miss Never again

Fantastic sea food. We shared a prawn starter between the two of us, it was quite a large portion (see picture). For a main course we had 1x hake and 1x Grouper. We asked if the fish comes with sides or any sauce as the menu is a little vague. The fish came with veg potato gratin and they season the fish but it doesn't come with any sauce, which is perfect as they don't want to hide the delicate flavours of the fish. The staff were very helpful, we asked a few questions and they couldn't have been any more helpful. For those who aren't fussed on fish they also have some meat dishes. For the area this resturant is a little more pricey than some but it's totally reflected in the quality of food and the service. I will be sure to revisit Ray Fish next time we are back in Cabo Roig.

This place is fantastic. The best fish platter Ive ever tasted. Lovely little restaurant new to the strip, excellent service and stunning fresh food. We went twice in one week, it was that good! Kids loves their spaghetti bolognese too. Definitely worth a visit!!
