Tasca Beach - Orewa
Tasca Beach
Description
Tasca Beach in Orewa serves standout tapas, crisp patatas bravas and memorable desserts like baklava, alongside pizzas, paella and Moorish eggs. Attentive, friendly staff and a clean, family-friendly beachfront setting (indoor/outdoor seating) create a lively, popular atmosphere, though it can get loud and parking is limited. Portions skew large, so tapas are recommended; occasional cooking mishaps have been reported. Prices range roughly NZ$20–50 per person, making it a vibrant spot for brunch, lunch or dinner.

Wonderful food, great service and a real buzz of people talking great atmosphere. Keen to try another dish. Love having an open kitchen so you see the chefs working. Sea food dishes looked amazing smelt divine. A must try next time.
I was pleasantly surprised by how great the meal was. The beef cheek dish I ordered was a generous portion, incredibly tender, and absolutely delicious. The young staff were friendly and courteous, and my meal was served quickly.
This is a lovely restaurant for dining! I really enjoyed the warm atmosphere and the friendly host. However, I found the food quality to be a bit average. I tried the quesadilla, and it was quite dry; I've had better at the Mexican fast food spot in the mall. On the other hand, my husband had the squid, which was delicious. We also ordered a pizza for the kids, and it was a great portion for just $10. I’d consider returning and perhaps trying something different next time. Despite being busy, the service was fairly quick.
