I love that it’s a different variety of food on the menu and it all seemed really authentic and well presented. I got the enchiladas de mole and the sopes. Sopes were very tasty, I especially liked the deep fried shell. Enchiladas de moles had such a unique flavor, I’ve had mole before but mostly as a dipping sauce, so the flavor was a bit overpowering to me as the sauce for the enchiladas. What Gipsy Pirat doesn't like about El Valle Oaxaqueño:
I was surprised when I was charged $6 for a large horchata plus $2 dollars for using my card because they charge 4% of your total to make a payment. Usually a large horchata cost $3.50 at most places. The plates are not expensive, but It's responsibility of the owner to pay for their point of sale fees. if they want to provide a service that will be beneficial for their business just deal with it, dont make people pa... Excellent authentic Food! Lot's of variety that you don't see elsewhere. I'm going back with another person and getting the tlayuda.
We stumbled upon the reviews of this place and went there right away. Delicious, authentic regional Mexican food — I wish there were more places like it! We had the enchiladas de mole and molotes, both were incredible and very filling. They have some Oaxacan imports and pantry items for sale, we took home some mole paste and pinole mix we can't wait to try. We will be back many times!
So friendly and the best Mexican food in Salem, hands down, belly full.
Great Oaxacan food. I like the Caldo de Camarones, tacos and lunch special.
