Called at 9am on Saturday the 27th and the woman operating the phone was SO rude. We went to Kay’s instead and they were much kinder. I would absolutely avoid this place.
The food here is excellent! Our waitress was very nice. I had the Tri-tip and it was really good. The mashed potatoes and gravy that came with the meal were great. I would highly recommend this place. We stop here every time we visit town.
The best dining experiences are often found away from the crowds. I decided to try the 805 chicken melt, along with a half order of fries and onion rings, as the waitress had recommended. It turned out to be an excellent choice! Both the fries and onion rings were spot on and delicious. After my meal, I couldn't resist checking out the pies and knew I had to indulge before leaving. I made some room, and I'm so glad I did! The pastry was wonderfully flaky, and the blackberry filling was flavorful without being overly sweet. The service was outstanding as well; all the waitresses collaborated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, and they were very attentive. Next time, I’ll skip the overpriced artisan fare and go for some real comfort food. You won’t be disappointed at this place!
The burger is hands down the best. They also made the chicken fried biscuit sandwich soooo bomb. The service was handed with a smile and they made sure to keep the drinks coming. I’d go back again for sure
This place has been the best since I first started eating it like 25 years ago. The omelettes? To. Die. For.
**Restaurant Review: Jack's - A Mixed Bag of Experiences** Jack's is a beloved eatery known for its variety and charm, boasting delectable breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, alongside outstanding desserts. While many patrons rave about the scrumptious burgers, chicken fried steak, and exceptional pies, inconsistent service has left some diners frustrated. Reports of burnt bacon, forgotten orders, and unwelcoming attitudes have marred the experience for a few, overshadowing the generally friendly environment. Though some have decided against returning, loyal customers continue to appreciate the warm hospitality and enticing menu. Jack's remains a must-visit for those seeking comfort food with potential highs and lows in service.

We started coming here since Kay?s Country Kitchen has been too busy and we?re so glad we did. The food is just as good and the service is great! I didn?t get a pic of the Belgian waffle or the country fried steak but they were delicious and the portion sizes are BIG. Definitely give them a try, you won?t be disappointed ?
Food is always good! Their breakfast is especially excellent!! Good portions for the price, I got the black and bleu burger which was great and would get again. However some of the waitresses can seem a little agitated when you ask them for something other than that, nice brunch and lunch joint.
I really really love this place. I'd say old school diners already have an near and dear place in my heart and places like this just happened to be why. To start off with the food is fantastic not even to mention how good the pie is. I personally forget about potlucks often and usually I'll drop by Jack's and pick up a pie which is usually met with very happy people. The servers are always very friendly and this place has the charm and warmth the diners are supposed to have. Indoor or outdoor the service is always been phenomenal. On a side note if you've never had bangers and eggs before try it here! I would have had photos as well, but my food was gone shortly after arriving. I'll try again next time but no promises.

My wife wanted corn beef and all the fixen. For dinner tonight so we went to Jack's. As you can see, the portions were nice the fresh salad was delicious at best. The atmosphere was very friendly and inviting I shall return for breakfast.

We went to trade Jack’s out for the first time from a friends recommendation. The place itself is quite quaint, and reminds one of a more traditional breakfast spot of yesteryear with all the booth seating. There was a minor weight as we went earlier in the morning on a weekend, but we didn’t have to wait more than about 10 minutes. most of the staff was quite attentive, the only downside was our personal experience with the specific waitress we had. She didn’t seem to have much of any personality with us, but we did notice that she did with others that were local to Orcutt as opposed to us who are not as local. The meals that we had were all very tasty, and gave really good portions as well. The menu had a diverse selection of items for breakfast and lunch, so it was certainly a bit challenging to decide what we wanted to try for our first time there. Overall, the experience was quite good, and would certainly go back again. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

This restaurant is an institution in Orcutt, starting in the 1970's. It has changed ownership several times over the years with differing quality, but still one of THE places to go in Old Orcutt for that classic diner experience. The current owners have really taken things to the next level, integrating classic dishes with Santa Maria Style tri-tip. I had Jack's Breakfast Sandwich on sourdough, and it was great! The home fries were crispy and delicious, and the staff was very courteous and attentive. Parking: There aren't many parking spaces in front of the restaurant. It's not their fault, it is just the way the town was set up. Get there early or don't be afraid to park down the street and walk a bit. Jack's has been around for as long as I can remember and it's a must try for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They offer a huge variety of meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there is sure to be something that everyone will enjoy. Their pies are absolutely to die for too! You will not be disappointed with their food or desserts. The service is good and they are always friendly. Don't miss out on this cute restaurant! I had the Vaquero omelet and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Also, I asked for crispy hash browns, and got THEE BEST hash browns! If you like them crispy, you won't be disappointed! Excellent service as well! Great little spot for breakfast for sure. Can'twait to go back for their lunch, and especially for their dinner. They have a meatloaf dinner....can't wait!!
Our server was friendly, attentive and very patient with our party of 7. Our food was excellent. I've never had an item on the menu I didn't like. I usually order breakfast (the French Toast is delicious) but this time I tried the Jack's Chicken Sandwichand it did not disappoint!
Come to Jack?s for breakfast, lunch or dinner whenever they?re open. Portions are generous, flavors are delicious and menu items are created with originality. You?ll find variations of foods found elsewhere with a unique flair from their kitchen. Service isfast and friendly, with frequent offers of beverage refills. The attractive décor is consistent with its origins in the ?70s.You?ll certainly get your fill of marvelous foods here!
