The restaurant certainly enjoys excellent reviews and a good reputation, which is why expectations were quite high. Unfortunately, based on my personal taste, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. The appetizer, in particular, while reminiscent of Molise products, seemed lacking in character and the portions were rather small, lacking the distinctive touch I was expecting. Overall, a decent experience, but one that didn't fully convince me compared to what I'd previously read.

A restaurant in a beautifully renovated historic building. Excellent food, professional staff, and reasonable prices for what they offer. Highly recommended.

Tucked away in the beautiful village of the stone workers of Oratino close to Campobasso is an equally beautiful restaurant serving traditional Molise cuisine. We were fortunate enough to have dinner at Olmicello on the terrace where you have an old stone olive press from the days when this place housed an olive oil mill. That evening we sampled a number unique and traditional dishes; salad with rucola/walnuts sthin slice of pear with olive oil and lemon; oven baked baccalà (salted cod) with tomatoes; fried baccalàpizza e minestra (corn flour pizza with greens); cacio e ova (egg and cheese balls) in tomato sauce mixed antipasto. Everything was really delicious including the house wine and the desserts. Service was top notch from start to finish and prices are very reasonable. In addition to the terrace (open during warm months) the place has indoor ground floor seating including ap rivate dining area and also a cave section. The interior is elegant and rustic with exposed stone walls and ceilings producing a refined atmosphere. Worth a definite return visit.
