Rustik - Orangeville

We were passing through town and tried to find somewhere open on a Sunday afternoon. So happy to find Rustik Bistro and was able to get a reservation last minute. It was absolutely delightful. with great ambience and environment. The food was delicious, hot and so well presented. The staff we so helpful and friendly, will definitely be returning!!

The best burger I’ve had in a long time. Gluten free bun was great and service fantastic. Cocktails delish!!!

Nice Friday night out. Great food and lively atmosphere. Love music was excellent and added to the fantastic experience. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the meals, apps and dessert.

Four of us had dinner at Rustik after golf. It was a nice restaurant but it didn't knock me out. They are trying very hard, I'm sure. Pros: Our server, Danielle, was very animated and personable. Gracious and attentive service. She made the whole experience very enjoyable. The food was tasty and properly cooked. The pate was great and was well presented. Cons: No tablecloths. I expect tablecloths in a restaurant at this price range. They would have helped tame the noise level as well. Noise level was off the charts primarily because of the poor decor. Rustik is in a former bank with a super high ceiling. Too many hard surfaces on the walls. No acoustic treatment whatsoever. Just made conversation very difficult. No dress code. Saw three baseball caps on male diners. Not good. Portions were very small relative to the prices. My salmon was gone in 4 bites.

First time here and we will be back. Atmosphere has a comfortable elegance with lots of natural light. A side patio is also available. We chose two appetizers. The mushrooms on a thickly sliced baguette were delicious and smothered in a wonderful Marney Sauce. The Caesar Salad was a delightful surprise with it’s creamy textured dressing and an added bit of heat. In addition there were bits Napa cabbage tucked in which added extra crunch and nutrition. We were sharing so they served it in two bowls. This is a must try if you are looking for a Caesar salad that’s delicious and updated to scrumptious! Both mains were served piping hot, beautifully plated and ample portions. Beef bourguignon was tender in a luscious sauce with a variety of grilled/roasted vegetables. As much as I enjoyed the perfectly roasted potatoes in this dish, I couldn’t help but wonder how this dish would be served on a bed of mashed potatoes to soak up all the deliciousness! The Duck breast was sumptuous with celery root purée, vegetables and intensely flavourful au jus. We don’t usually have dessert but sometimes take one home if there is something different. Bingo Rustik Beer Pie. A wonderful crumb crust with a dark chocolate/dark beer filling topped with toasted marshmallow I think). It was like eating a S’mor but with the best chocolate ever! Very reasonably priced for this calibre of dining. Service was excellent! As I said, we will be back as we hear other dishes are must try also.
