This local eatery presents a dichotomy of dining experiences. While some patrons rave about its friendly atmosphere and outstanding dishes like Cuban sandwiches and French toast, others lament the decline in service and quality, citing rude staff and subpar meals. Reports of inconsistent food preparation and disappointing service mar the restaurant's reputation. However, the charm of warm, welcoming servers and fresh ingredients keeps some customers coming back for more. As the establishment faces challenges, its ability to please remains uncertain, leaving diners hopeful for a return to its former glory.

The French toast at this restaurant is the best I've ever tasted. It’s perfectly soft on the inside with a delightful crunch on the outside. We live an hour away, but we frequently make the trip just to enjoy breakfast here!

A great place for lunch with a full bar for coffee or drinks for dinner. everything we had ordered was great! The BLTs are definitely a family advantage for lunch.

Owners we behind the bar and greeting guest. Food was outstanding, the menu was prepared by a top notch chef, used to work at whole foods. The food was locally sourced, and had a great selection, not your city bar food. Must try the local beers, all different and all very good... Ask about the history or try using the untapped ap

I absolutely love this restaurant! It had been years since my last visit, so my fiancé and I decided to support Orange's restaurant week, especially since The Light Well is donating some of its proceeds to help a local individual in need. Just as I remembered, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere evokes a charming nostalgia, highlighting the feature that inspired its name. They serve fantastic locally roasted coffee. If you're a fan of craft beer, this place is definitely worth a visit, as they have a wide selection on tap, including options from their own Willow Spring Brewery. My favorite part was dessert; the crème brûlée was perfection, and the bacon brownie was incredibly rich and chocolaty!

I ordered a perfectly cooked black and blue burger with their bacon blue fries, and I'll break down the experience. I kicked things off with their popular butternut squash soup, which was being freshly prepared. While the soup might not have had a chance to fully develop its flavors, I found that a sprinkle of table salt helped enhance it. I would have liked a bit more stock for a richer base, but overall, it was smooth and tasty. As for the burger, each visit has confirmed that I have never been let down. They use local, fresh, grass-fed beef, which delivers a fantastic taste and texture when ordered medium. The challah bun perfectly complements the burger, and I’m one of the few who gets genuinely excited about having arugula on a sandwich. The hand-cut, carefully seasoned fries are delicious on their own, but I enjoy dressing them up. This time, they topped the fries with bacon, blue cheese dressing, caramelized onions, and a bit more arugula. They may have overdone it a tad with the arugula, but I have no real complaints. For dessert, we shared a bacon brownie. While I'm not usually a fan of bacon in brownies because of the textural contrast, they chopped the bacon finely, which worked well. Two of our kids thought it was amazing and polished off the plate! My only critique would be regarding the beer selection— I would have preferred a local brew, but they only offered IPAs. I believe Guinness is best served at room temperature rather than chilled, but I still enjoyed my two pints. My wife, who has developed a gluten sensitivity, came up with a clever meal choice and was quite satisfied too.
