I was visiting Oñati with a friend and we just needed to eat something fast...this was the first place we stumbled across and so went in. The set menu was 11€ and had the typical dishes but instead of being mediocre as they sometimes are on a cheap set menu, they were delicious and worth more than the 11€ ! I had a seafood salad , both tasty and well-presented and then “cabracho” fish. For dessert I had a lovely yogurt mousse with mango sauce and my friend’s cheesecake was just as wonderful. The decoration and atmosphere were typical of these type of restaurants and the service was fast and friendly. If you are looking for a set menu in this area, don’t think twice about eating here!

I was there with friends, for six euros each with had a dish, bread, dessert (homemade), water, wine and coffee. Cheap and good.

Typical taberna's coarse atmosphere, staff no english-speaking, limited menu, quality of the food average, quality of the cooking low (one of our cod was not cooked at all! , quite busy with a strong male customers' presence, relatively fast service, lots of flies, price around 13euros for three-course menu. We got a cod pie with potatoes, baked cod and dessert-which was good one glass of wine. The restaurants' average quality in Onati is quite low (as it is the number of them! , you might stop by this place and try it, tasting the local cuisine atmosphere, maybe you'll be luckier than us! We tried once and felt was enough!

Very pleasant servers but ultimately poor average food made for a disappointing dinner experience at Iturritxo. We asked to be seated outside and were given a table almost immediately. We opted to select from the Menu del Noche which at €15 per person represented great value for money for a starter, main and dessert with wine! My black pasta with seafood was very creamy and not terribly interesting. My friends both had the same battered and fried cheese vegetable plates. They had the meatballs for main and I had the fish (cod). My cod was the only item which was good. The meatballs were awful. They were given a full bottle of red to share while I was presented with an enormous glass of white wine a Rueda I think. For dessert, I had some vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce (both of which tasted synthetic) while the guys had a creme catalan (good), and a vanilla creme in a puff pastry sandwich. Service was very pleasant. However inexpensive our dinner might have been, this was not a good meal.

Exquisite day menu. the richest meatballs I've ever tasted. very agusto
