a beautiful Saturday evening with good food and drinks. the place is at a beautiful location and is quite large enough. we were kindly greeted the entry. we booked the table for 9 o'clock, but there reached 8:45, but had luck enough to get the table. started with amazing cocktails. the starters were great. loved the chicken wings and the medium sea top. our server was pretty nice and helped us with the menu. Went here for a quick lunch before CWS game and was a bit disappointed. We got a couple of drinks which were bit pricey but good. The let down was the pizza. Customized the pizza for just pepperoni and sausage topping and tho the crust and sauce tasted great, the crust and the toppings never stayed together and separated every time. View all feedback.
I will say our server did a tremendous job. He explained he was busy, but still took the time to give us a rundown of the company, the restaurant, and the food preparation. 5 stars to him. For the food itself, the wings were great. Cooked perfectly, and the molasses BBQ was awesome. The blackened salmon salad was underwhelming. A plate full of lettuce with a piece of over-cookee, under-seasoned salmon. Just wasn't worth it. Presentation on the Mac N Cheese was good, however, as blasphemous as it sounds, there was just too much cheese. A good thick sauce with a light melted topping would have been perfect. The pesto style drizzle on top also added a strange taste I wasn't a huge fan of. I'd like to go back and try their lamb burger at some point, as I've yet to see anything like it in town. So we'll see
So tasty! Couldn't believe a place like this exists, most of the menu is wood-fired! We got the Shishito Peppers and Cauliflower for an appetizer and could have eaten 3 plates. I had a Brickway old fashioned, a little watered down but good flavors throughout. We ordered the Tomahawk pork chop and wood grilled salmon and both plates were completely clean. The wood firing lends such a great flavor, nice char in the food. Highly recommend!
The server must have been new-she did not know if the sauce on the fish was hot(Spicy) and was at a loss as to how to find out.(we asked her to check with the chef). I couldn't taste my steak because the flavor of the sauce overpowered it and my fries were very crisp but also dry and cold like shoe string potatoes. Overall, overpriced considering the quality of the food.
I can't remember our waiters name but he was great! Very personable and funny. He gave us excellent recommendations for wine. We had the focaccia honey and garlic butter as an app and it was great. I ordered the lobster gratin pizza which was yummy but there wasn't a ton of lobster on it. My friends ordered the pear pizza and steak and frites and they enjoyed there's just as much! Will definitely be back
I’m not sure if they are cutting costs, recipe change or new chef, but our late lunch yesterday was very disappointing and not worth the price tag. The Pizza that used to be amazing was very blonde, no crunch/textute on the crust and ended up not finishing and trashing. We paid up charges for sides of mac and cheese instead of fries, Big Mistake! It was like a Soup with mushy pasta and random bbq sauce on top??? YUCK!!! The shrimp tacos were soggy with big bites of jalapeño. The only thing that tasted normal was the lamb burger. My guests and I were very disappointed. Not sure I’ll be returning after talking to several friends who have had mediocre experiences lately on these items and this place was on regular rotation for great pizza and other items.
