Today, the service at the restaurant was excellent. The drinks and food were brought to our table quickly. The quality of the food was average. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries along with a lime soda. The portion size was larger than expected, but the taste was not impressive. Next time, I may try the chicken salad or chicken sandwich to avoid the mediocre food quality at this restaurant. View all feedback.
Service was very good today, the speed of receiving drinks and food was excellent. The food quality was about average though, ordered a cheeseburger and fries along with a soda. The quantity of food was more than expected but lacked overall great taste. Perhaps, the Chicken salad or chicken sandwich would be the next choice if you want to bypass the fast food service at OMA.
The food options at The Hanger have recently improved. In addition to pre-made sandwiches and mini Godfather's pizzas, there are now some healthy choices available. You can grab a low carb meal from the Eat Fit Go fridge and warm it up in one of the nearby microwaves. Alternatively, you could choose one of the pre-made salads – the chicken quinoa salad was particularly tasty, although freshness is key as they don't improve with age. With a Scooter's Coffee on one side and a small bar on the other, The Hanger meets basic needs in an airport that is not well-suited for modern high security times. It may not be the best option, especially when busy, as Kracky McGee's in Terminal A is better. However, you don't have much choice and will have to make do with The Hanger.
The restaurant offers new healthy food options, but unfortunately, many items were already sold out by 5 PM on a Thursday evening. The salads appeared unappealing. There was a snack pack available with fruit, veggies, and a small chocolate bar, but it would have been better if it had a nicer piece of chocolate instead. Additionally, the peanut butter in the snack boxes contains Smuckers which has hydrogenated oils and lots of sugar.
Do not order the chicken sandwich! I repeat, do not order the chicken sandwich! Ground, soggy, compressed chicken. Makes the McChicken look like gourmet food. I got through about three bites and complained, waitress said, I like it! Paid seven bucks to have an upset stomach. The people next to me had the burger and pizza, didn 't look all that great either but probably would have been better choices.
If you find yourself in the A gates and need a quick bite, you can stop by this small restaurant after going through security. The place has limited seating options and you place your order at the counter. They offer coffee, snacks, and a few grilled items. Unfortunately, the service is often slow and not very efficient. I once had to wait for my coffee to be remade three times because of basic mistakes. The staff can be distracted by personal conversations, and the atmosphere is not very professional. I haven't tried the food due to a lack of confidence in their menu knowledge. The coffee is average and prices are high, as expected in airports. It's a shame that this is the only dining option in the gate area. I would even consider walking to a food truck in the cold Nebraska winter for better food options.
