Description
**Review of Stokes Restaurant: A Mixed Bag Experience**
Stokes Restaurant presents a vibrant atmosphere complemented by friendly staff, though the dining experience can vary significantly. While many diners praise flavorful dishes like the green chili chicken burrito and Aztec Nachos, others find the food offerings overly Americanized and inconsistent in quality. Service is often noted as a highlight, with attentive servers enhancing the experience, though some encounters reveal a lack of cohesion among staff. Price points leave some patrons feeling overcharged for average meals. Overall, Stokes is a commendable option for drinks and casual dining, particularly for those seeking a fusion twist on Tex-Mex flavors.

Last night, we ordered a “good for you” salad through DoorDash. The salad was quite large, but we received only one tiny dressing. I decided to save it for today and planned to stop by the restaurant for an additional dressing. When my husband went to pick it up, he encountered a large staff member with drawn-on eyebrows who made a fuss about it (I’m mentioning her physical description in case management wants to address the issue). She initially accused him of lying, claiming they hadn’t had any DoorDash orders that day. He had to clarify that we placed the order LAST NIGHT. Then she informed him he would need to pay 95 cents for the dressing. Fortunately, another staff member intervened and told her to let it go, so he was finally able to leave with the dressing. It only takes one employee with a poor attitude to spoil the experience. Clearly, she’s not cut out for the service industry. Additionally, I should mention that the chicken burrito he ordered last night was quite mushy, and we wouldn’t order it again.
During our trip to Omaha, we made it a priority to stop by this restaurant. My wife has been dreaming about the Aztec Nachos here and often talks about them. That's all we ordered, and let me tell you, the hype is absolutely justified! I just wish I could decipher the Aztec curry recipe; if I could, they wouldn’t stand a chance!
If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy delicious food and drinks, this is the place for you! The staff is incredibly friendly, and I had a fantastic experience throughout my visit, with frequent and attentive service. I tried the steak medallion appetizer cooked medium rare, the tacos carbon, and the brownie Alamo de. The portion sizes were generous—plenty to satisfy without leaving you overly stuffed or still hungry. I also had two local beers and a blueberry mule, which were excellent. Overall, my experience was very enjoyable, and this would be a lovely spot for a date or just to unwind and savor a meal on your own. I’ll definitely be back!
I really enjoy Stokes as a place to relax with a decent cocktail and some tasty tex-mex. Understand that the food is not traditional; it is americanized and fusion. If you come in with that expectation you will have a good time. Stokes really shines as a casual date night, or as a place to grab drinks and food after work with your coworkers. Vegetarian options: A few veggie options, but tasty recipes.
Stopped in for brunch. First time visiting Stokes Bar Grill. I was surprised to find it was more of a southwest cuisine rather than American fare I was expecting. My husband had the Hellfire Meatloaf (can't remember the exact name) and it was quite tasty. I opted for a brunch item, Chile Verde burrito which was more avocado than anything. I was hoping for more egg and cheese.
