I am by no means a professional food critic, but this food was AMAZING. At our table we had chicken parmesan, lasagna, sausage pizza, and fettuccine with grilled chicken. All of entrees were some of the best food we have had in a long while. The area of town seems a bit rundown at first glance, but some of the best gems are in sketchy neighborhoods and buildings. What Margaud Guyon doesn't like about Malara's Italian Restaurant:
Love it. Mrs. Malara can cook for me anytime. Her made-from-scratch cheese ravioli smothered in thick, rich red sauce makes my mouth water to think of it. Totally worth the drive. This is an Omaha gem. View all feedback.
Service not as bad as reviews said. I am a big foodie, after reading the reviews I almost didn't try it because most reviews were about horrible service. I tried it finally tonight, had the spinach tortellini with chicken filling and alfredo sauce it was good, not knock me down amazing but good enough to bring me back, the cheese sticks were huge and salad looked like it came from a bag. The service was AMAZING, my waitress was Michelle and she was fast, friendly, and flat out awesome!!! For the price it was definately worth it.. If you come ask for Michelle!!
Malaras RUDE. Going to revise my review of this restaurant because of a recent experience I had their. I went to Malaras for dinner by myself at p.m. On a Friday night. I walked in, and decided I wanted to sit at the bar to eat. I walked up to the bar and asked the woman bartender if I could sit there and have dinner. With a snotty attitude she said no, we don't serve dinner too people here at the bar. We're too busy There was no one sitting in the bar. ZERO. She was leaning against the bar watching TV. I again emphasize to her my desire to eat at the bar and she said, not gonna happen I said, so, you'd rather lose my business than serve me at the bar She said, You're just one ANY restaurant that has that attitude doesn't deserve ANY BUSINESS. So now, our monthly family dinners for people will be going elsewhere because they couldn't take care of the one. This mom and pop will likely go the way of the others. Ciao!

Malara's was no exception to this rule; I would 100% recommend this establishment to fellow Italian food lovers. The inside atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff is friendly, two factors which greatly contribute to customer satisfaction. Overall my family and I give Malara's a 98 out of 100 satisfaction rating. Most...read more
I honestly made an account just to say how bad this restaurant is. First off, all of the wait staff were sitting at the bar when my husband and I walked in, it took a minute of us just standing there for them to even notice us. After we were seated, we looked over the menu, although a wide selection; boy was I surprised how a little hole in the wall would have such AWFUL food. I ordered the an Italian dish with red sauce and shrimp and my husband ordered chicken Alfredo. Since I don't enjoy chunky tomatoes, I asked the server Maria if I could have it without the tomatoes. She told me they were purreed and I clarified with her that they weren't just chunks on top, the we don't see our...read more
The cheesesticks are yummy and the sauce is fantastic too! The waitresses were friendly. If you think the decor isn't fancy, its not, but it doesn't have to be when the food is great.
