Reviews - Azteca
Reviews summary
Azteca is a Mexican restaurant that receives mixed reviews from its customers. Some diners find the food to be greasy, bland, and lacking in flavor, while others praise the generous portions and tasty dishes like ARROZ CON POLLO. The service is described as adequate, with some reports of tardiness and lack of communication with orders for takeout. However, other patrons appreciate the excellent service and value for money. Despite differing opinions on the food quality, Azteca seems to have a loyal customer base who enjoys the freebies like chips, salsa, and bean dip. Ultimately, whether to dine at Azteca or not may come down to personal taste and preferences.

My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burrito, while I adored my Mexican Pizza. The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding. Our orders were served promptly, we were checked on regularly, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant! View all feedback.
What Freida Erdman dislikes about Azteca:
Occasionally, my sister convinces me to try Azteca, but I rarely leave feeling satisfied. They do offer three small bowls of salsa and bean dip with chips for free, which is a nice touch. However, the quality declines quickly after the cabbage salsa. I find their food lacking in flavor. Having lived in Mexico, I know what authentic Mexican cuisine should taste like, and this just comes across as greasy and bland. My... View all feedback.

Great authentic Mexican restaurant on the southwest outskirts of Omaha metro. Great, comprehensive menu with anything you could want with regards to Mexican food. No annoying background music, which was great by us. Most staff appeared to be bilingual ifyou have family that only speaks English or only speaks Spanish. The service was slightly slow, but the restaurant was alsorather busy. So maybe they're dealing with staffing shortages like everybody else. Didn't impact the food, which came quick andextremely hot from the kitchen. Portion size was generous; certainly not small. Beans and rice are delicious. They specify thatthe first basket of chips and salsa are complimentary, whereas refills have a modest charge. They DO NOT appear to offerpitchers of margaritas or happy hour specials in case you were wondering. They DO have a fully stocked bar and can make youanything you like I would imagine. Saw a large family of about 20 people having dinner together, so they can accomodate largegroups. The attached photo to this review was the specials offered in addition to the menu. Both tacos al pastor and spinachenchiladas were delicious! Solid restaurant and a good dining experience.
Had high expectations after seeing this highly rated unassuming restaurant. Was not at all disappointed. They started us off with a fantastic salsa, some cabbage and refried beans with our chips. Service was fast and friendly. Food came out with veryminimal wait. Main dishes were excellent and fried ice cream was amazing. Wasn't the best Mexican rice I've ever had but wasdecent enough, that would literally be my only negative of the meal. Restaurant was kept clean and well kept. Highly recommendfor a delicious meal.
I?ve been coming here for years, This place is so consistent and that?s a huge reason why I keep coming back. One of my favorite things about this place is that along with chips and very good salsa, they also bring out Spanish slaw and refried beans. Theirspecialty burritos are all good (I?ve tried almost all of them now) my favorite is the Colorado. Today I came in and got thenumber 18 and was not disappointed at all. This place is always super fast and friendly.
This was our first time here after driving past this place hundreds of times. Easy off and on I80! Lunch at 1:40pm the place was pretty quiet. Huge seating area, I?m sure they pack em? in. Winners of, Best of Omaha 2020. Chips, bean dip, tasty kindaspicy salsa (my wife asked for mild they delivered) and a slaw arrived quickly on our table. Slaw was interesting/never hadslaw Mexican restaurant I ordered the burrito with chicken on the lunch menu (goes til 3pm) with oya beans and rice. My betterhalf got the shredded beef tostado beans and rice and lime house marg. Our food arrived In good times and it was Extremelyhot temperature wise. The chicken burrito was full of pretty good juicy white chicken meat, LOTS of sauce, good beans and rice.It did get a little soggy because it had to cool to eat. HOT food served here! The tostado didn?t do so well. Upon arrival itwas too hot to touch and ended up being soggy. The shredded beef was good, guac was ok, beans and rice were enjoyed. Afterwardswe both kinda felt like a sodium bomb was served. I?m not sure we liked it enough to stop again?
We stopped in for lunch. The free chips with beans, coleslaw and salsa were nice. The portions were good but it has such a great flavor. The meat in the entrees were very seasoned. The food came out very quickly. It was just anout 30 minutes from thetime we walked in to when we walked out. The cost was reasonable as well. I will have to try the dinner menu soon.

We placed a large take out order for tacos and chips. Gave Oscar 1 WEEK before we needed the order so plenty of time to plan. We had a specific time we needed the food. The day of our lunch, it was confirmed what time the food needed to be here. The food arrived almost 1 HOUR!!! late. No apologizes, no explanation, no return phone calls. Of course the food was cold and the bottom of the tacos fell out. We tried to help a local restaurant during the pandemic and we were slapped in the face.
We placed a large take out order (tacos and chips) to help a local business during the pandemic. Oscar was given 1 week in advance. It was stressed on more than one occasion what time the food needed to be delivered to feed our employees. Confirmed and once again stressed the time line the morning of the delivery. Order was delivered an HOUR late, no apologizes, no explanations, no return phone call. Food was cold and had to use a fork to eat the taco since the shell was soggy.
Very good service and a good dining experience. The lighting fixtures should be replaced! I like it that both salsa and retried beans are served with the chips. A strawberry and whipped cream on top of a tasty chip is presented with the bill. I didn’t care for the Chile relleno. Crab enchiladas are good!
Disappointing! Letuce, avocado, and tomatoes on my enchilada seemed to be the left overs they had from the day before. Plates were super hot to the touch and the waiter didnt even bother to warn us about it, water was good tho.

We had dinner at this restaurant. The price range per person was between $10 and $20. The food was rated a 3, the service a 5 and the atmosphere a 5. We recommend trying the burrito.
Lunch at this restaurant typically ranges from $10 to $20 per person. One highly recommended dish is the Azteca Steak.
They have the ideal taco chips for their complimentary chips and salsa. I also had the azteca fajitas, and it was super delicious. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Salsa Bean Dip

We decided to visit this restaurant for the first time, despite driving past it numerous times. It's conveniently located off I80 with easy access. We arrived for lunch at 1:40pm and found the place to be quite quiet. The restaurant has a large seating area, which I'm sure gets busy during peak hours. They are the winners of the Best of Omaha 2020 award. We were served chips, bean dip, and a tasty, slightly spicy salsa (my wife requested mild and they accommodated). Additionally, a unique slaw was brought to our table, something we had never tried at a Mexican restaurant before. I ordered the chicken burrito from the lunch menu (available until 3pm) with oya beans and rice, while my partner opted for the shredded beef tostada with beans, rice, and a lime house margarita. Our food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The chicken burrito was filled with juicy white meat, plenty of sauce, and tasty beans and rice. It did become slightly soggy as it cooled down, but the food was definitely served at a high temperature. Unfortunately, the tostada didn't hold up as well, arriving too hot to handle and becoming soggy. The shredded beef was flavorful, the guacamole was decent, and the beans and rice were enjoyed. However, we both felt like we had consumed a lot of sodium afterwards. Overall, we weren't sure if the experience was enough to make us want to return in the future.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken Tortilla Soup at this restaurant! The Chimichanga was also very tasty. The cabbage salsa was a unique touch, and I spiced it up by adding some of the red salsa. Our server was courteous and checked on us frequently. Overall, it was a positive dining experience.
Excellent service and food. Came in at 930 pm and was welcomed. Closing at 10 pm. Azteca steak was decent, bit more gristle than expected. Recommended for sure.
Have been going here for over 20 years! This place is great! Hearty portions, great pricing, and best of all, it's family owned. One of the best Mexican restaurants in Omaha. Staff is friendly, and they do things right because we have our favorite servers all the time. Good food and you get to see familiar faces is always a plus!

I always enjoy AztecaFast and friendly service Fajitas are my favoriteThere is a good kick of spice with the salsa.
Excellent, authentic Mexican cuisine. they love the chips, bor, salsa and Slav appetizers, which is free every time they go. eating comes hot there are big.
Delicious and good value for money. The best dish is the arroz con pollo, which is their signature dish. It's a generous portion that could easily feed two people. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The garnishes and sauces that come with the chips are also delicious. The restaurant is a cozy little hole in the wall. If you're in the area and craving Mexican food, this is the place to go.
Sat to five stars because it was evenly large food. my friend and I sung like kings under $30. it is more la mex than tex mex. meeresfruit.
Utterly disappointing. The best part of the meal was the complimentary chips, salsa, bean dip and cabbage slaw; and the complimentary dessert chip at the end. I feel like they serve bland, tasteless food because that's what gringos think Mexican food is. As a gringo, I feel let down and disrespected. As a customer, never again.
