Thingsy's is the best place for food on the market. You really can't go wrong with something on the menu, but you are missing if you don't try the eggs Benedict at least once. The crab version was replaced by a maple cured salmon version, which is also delicious. We also love their New England clam chowder super creamy and full of shells. View all feedback.
What Alex S doesn't like about Dingey's Puget Sound Cuisine:
Wow. Sad excuse for an eggs Benedict. $18 after tax credit card fee, you get 1 (halved) basic English muffin from the grocery store, 2 overcooked (non-runny) eggs, unremarkable hollandaise sauce, decent ham that was ruined by tasting like the old oil on the grill, a small scoop of incredibly blande coleslaw. I really enjoyed the fish and chips, which come with a choice of halibut or cod. I can't wait to return soon to try the breakfast menu!
Located in the Farmer 's Market at a walk up counter. A variety of seafood I had the fish and chips, an excellent choice. All orders are freshly prepared, so no soggy batter on the fish.
This is one of the permanent food vendors at the Olympia Farmer 's market. Specializing in fish and chips, that 's what we had. Good service, not a long wait after ordering, and good food. I 'd return, but not make a special trip since it 's a long way from home...
Maple cured salmon Benedict was delicious. The portion of the salmon meat was generous, and the flavors were really good--an addictive balance of both sweetness and saltiness. The accompanying cole slaw (for lunch) was meh; if it was breakfast time, the benedict would be accompanied by potatoes, which looked good.
We visited Olympia on Friday and arrived at the Farmer's Market around 1:30 PM. It's wonderful that there was free parking available. Since the market closes at 3 PM, we had a bit of time to shop after eating at Dingey's. The food was incredibly fresh, particularly the fish and oysters. The French fries were delightfully crispy as well.
