The BBQ is delicious! I have tried all their smoked meats and they are all equally good. The brisket has the right smoke ring, with an excellent bark on it. If your in the mood for less traditional bbq, try the smoked wings! Juicy and flavorful. Also, I am not a greens person (I know, horrible being a Southern girl) but the creamed greens are downright amazing. To top it off, the family is super nice and accommodatin... View all feedback.
What Thomas Lamb doesn't like about Johnboy's Bbq:
The food truck was on campus today. Overall horrible food in my opinion. The brisket sandwich was practically inedible. It?s kinda a disgrace to real bbq by calling it brisket. Sauces were either mislabeled or wrong because their version of Carolina mustard is more of a bland, watery concoction of vinegar and mystery seeds. I wouldn?t recommend this anyone. Amazing people and BEYOND amazing food! I promise that if you have his smoked mashed potatoes, they will ruin you for all other mashed potatoes! It was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted!!!
The food truck came to our subdivision and it delivered! Ribs were on point, pulled pork was perfection and the smokehouse potato salad blew my mind! All the sauces were good and should be tried by all. Cant wait to try again.
The food truck is in baileyton this weekend so my family decided to try it out. I ordered first and only got nachos but watched the line cycle twice before I finally got my cheesy tortillas soup. Interestingly enough we all ended up switching meals after we got our food based on what looked tolerable to each other because nothing was particularly palatable. My mothers brisket was dry and tough. My dad was the only one who really got what he expected, a bologna sandwich. Kind of hard to mess that one up though.
Came from Idaho to visit family. This place made my trip. The BBQ was some of the best I ever had.
Tried their food truck at Knoxville and it was an underwhelming experience overall. The burnt ends were tough and chewy, and their collard greens that were recommended to me by them were under-seasoned. Their smokehouse potato salad was very good and their huge selection of sauces were great, but those can only go so far. I wouldn?t recommend this place to my friends or family.
