From start to finish Restaurant À Terra did not disappoint! What an amazing dining experience. Creative pre dinner cocktails by a very knowledgeable bartender, excellent recommendations from the wait staff for wine, dinner and dessert! Don’t forget to try their great selection of Port. Great place to dine. We had two appetizers which were amazing. The cocktails we had looked and tasted beautiful. For mains we had some rice and fish and octopus. Portions were quite big and all very tasty. The chocolate mouse was also perfect. The service was very nice and suggesting also allowing for tasting of wines. Surely can recommend this place for a nice dining experience. Also found the prices were on par with the quality.
Hotel and grounds are beautiful and spotless. Very well kept and managed.However we paid per night for the suite and on check out were informed that we only receive coffee pods between us for the whole trip the rest were ‘mini bar’ and charged to us ‘You should have scanned the QR code and read the small print’ was their response. Even at a travel lodge you get free coffee!!!The shuttle to the beach is euros per person. You are very secluded so be prepared to pay for everything x Staff on the whole were attentive and pleasant but there were one or two that were totally clueless- we felt sorry for them for the lack of training etc. On the whole a pleasant stay but for the money we paid we would have expected that. Just be aware they charge you fresh air... and coffee pods!
Dinner was overpriced and definitely not good value for what it was. Service was dreadfully slow. It was a big disappointment. The grounds are lovely.
We thought as a treat we would book 2 massages and lunch. We had a toddler and said can the toddler use the pool for 1 of the hours (in mind we are paying to be there or happy to pay more). They said no he would have to sit in the restaurant. To ask a toddler to sit for 3 plus hours in a restaurant is ridiculous. The manager did not bother coming out to us. To think that maybe they could be a bit flexible and gain more bookings seems strange. So we cancelled our booking. Sorry to say the service used to listen to their guests and we were regular local visitors…not any more.
