Wandering along the main street of Olhão we had planned to visit O Galo, where we have eaten supper, but it wasn't open. So I selected Floripes at random and what a great choice it was! We enjoyed 3 delicious dishes: my mother enjoyed chicken and shrimp, I had the Picanha (beef with black beans and rice) and my wife had sea food with rice – normally only for 2 minimum. What resourcer doesn't like about Rota Da Floripes:
After reading the other reviews I had to look carefully to be sure we were at the same place. Firstly, the rows of outside tables each contain just one table too many for comfort. Whilst the manager (or owner) is full of 'hail fellow, well met ' bonhomie, I 'd suggest a bit more participation in the actual serving of customers would be welcome! Good value and large portions. Eat what the owner recommends fish caught that morning. Attentive service
We had a very enjoyable lunch here recently. Fresh grilled sardines with potatoes and a Portuguese salad and a ham omelette with chips and a salad garnish. The food tasted good and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Worth a visit!
I visited the place with my parents. As a starter we had some very tasty garlic marinated clams with bread and olives on the side. As a main course we had the codfish and the grilled sea bass the most tasty one I have ever tried. The service was amazing and the owner of the place took really good care of us. The atmosphere it self made everything even better and the prices were optimal too. This is definitely a place worth visiting!!

We decided to eat dinner here this evening after a pleasant chat with the owner outside whilst looking at the varied menu. He was very pleasant and explained a few of the local dishes to us so we decided to sample them for ourselves and we weren't disappointed. Between the four of us we enjoyed the Portuguese style codfish dish, monkfish and shrimp rice pot, grilled sea bass (which my mum said was delicious) and one set menu which was very good value at €10 as this included two courses, a beer and a coffee. The other bonus this evening was that the restaurant was lovely and cosy as the temperatures outside were still unusually very cold and a couple of other restaurants we have eaten in this week were uncomfortable due to the cold temperatures both inside and out! Unfortunately tonight is our last night so we don't have the opportunity to dine here again on this visit but I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would be happy to return on my next trip to Olhao.
