A group of us went there for lunch. The menu offered each us something to satisfy our palates. Servings were plentiful, beautifully presented, and for the most very good. What Keshawn Leffler doesn't like about Astoria Family Restaurant:
The food was not top-notch. We decided to try the steak and garlic shrimp special, but the steak was overcooked and tough. The kids' spaghetti was underwhelming as well - we had hoped it would be a safe option for our ten-year-old, but ended up ordering chicken strips and fries for them instead. View all feedback.

As someone who does not eat meat, dairy, and the likes, I was impressed that they had v choices for me, I ordered the Greek salad which was huge. However, the minimal amount of feta, very bland dressing was disappointing. While a small dash of salt and pepper helped a bit, it lacked something - enough lemon juice and oregano. The oil was fairly good. Everyone who did not order the salad was thrilled with the food. All and all a great dining experience for everyone. I gave the review 4/5 because of the salad issue. Wish there was a 4.75 option.! That would have been more accurate.
Lots of room between tables. Good food and service. Good selection of items on the menu. Excellent Greek food.
My go-to brunch place. Smitty's is always super packed on Sundays but this gem always has room available. Cheap as far as brunch places go, $20 with tip. Good selection of items and some awesome surprises. The one week, they had ham in some kind of thin sauce, it honestly didn't look very appetizing but was the best thing I had ever tasted. Since then, I dive into everything and have not been disappointed. Another example is the withered looking sausages; they're supposed to look like that and are actually phenomenal. To be clear, I am not being sarcastic. Sometimes, because of the positioning of the air vents, the food can get cold. Just let the proprietor know and they'll fix it for you. I literally look forward to this every week and eat till it hurts. The service is also very attentive, almost too attentive, lol.
A group of us recently visited Astoria to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was my first time at this restaurant, although I had been to this location when it had a different name years ago. The interior renovation was tastefully done, and the restaurant was not very busy during our visit. Our server provided excellent service, being friendly and prompt in bringing us coffee upon our arrival. She checked in with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. I ordered the beef dip with a garden salad, and while the beef and dip were flavorful, the bun was soggy, causing the meat to fall out. The salad mainly consisted of lettuce with a few small cucumber pieces, which was a bit disappointing. Other members of the group tried the Reuben sandwich, lunch lasagna, onion soup, chicken salad, and more. As a special treat, the birthday girl received a complimentary piece of homemade cheesecake for us all to share, which was a nice touch. Overall, I would give Astoria a rating of 3.5 stars. I would definitely return and recommend it to others looking for a decent place to eat in Olds.
