Description

The Horton Arms, once a beloved community pub, now faces a mix of feedback from patrons. While some diners appreciate the warm atmosphere, attentive staff, and delicious food, others voice disappointment over inconsistent service and quality. Recent visits highlighted issues with poorly cooked meals and staff responses deemed unsatisfactory. Notably, the new management and menu format have raised concerns among regulars. Nevertheless, many guests still rave about memorable dishes, affordability, and a welcoming ambiance, suggesting that while some experiences are marred by missteps, the potential for great dining remains at this local establishment.

This is our second visit in this pub. our first visit was very good this time. had to start the goat cheese, which was very nice. for the main course the sirloin steak decided. to be brutally honest, it was terrible not well cooked and...the parts still raw. informed a worker who said they would not give the cook any other feedback. the bill was £87, which would have been reasonable if the food were acceptable. my wife also not really happy with her steak so a bad visit unfortunately

We had a great night here. The hosts were very friendly the bar staff very efficient and the buffet was lovely. It was a great atmosphere and well done to the hosts

I used to love coming here so much. The food was always great and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. I’m always recommending it to people but I won’t be anymore. Today me and my family had a very disappointing experience. Snotty waitresses, awful starters, undercooked burger, gave wrong side for main meal.I’d go on but I would just recommend in not going. It looks as if other people felt the same as it’s always rammed but there was hardly anyone in. There was absolutely no point in bringing any of this up with any of the staff as they were not very approachable and were much more interested in gossiping behind the bar. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

The food was beautiful, and the service from the staff was excellent. I would have given it five stars, but the older bartender was quite rude. That really impacted my experience.
