No way to be disappointed. We have their winter special dish, wild boar roast, that is...wild boar with red cabbage and knodel (a soft ball of Sommelbrot). Perfectly cooked and excellent. As with a German court, I and my 10 years old son could share a court (share is quite generous). They have their restaurants in many cities around Germany. We also saw one in Bremen. I would recommend it without hesitation.
In a warm afternoon we sat outside, so we didn't really go to the cellar. Whole food, smiles and helpful waitress, but the service was a little slow. It's good to have lunch here at thirty. We had... asparagus, green and white, well cooked and beautifully presented.
Eight of us ranging from a 78 year-old to a baby dined here. Everybody was happy with the range of food that was served, the beer and the wines. For us (British) it was an intriguing taste of typical German food and culture.
In Northern Germany many of the old world German traditions have been replaced, however, if you are looking for authenticity and great food, this is the place. It's a lovely old building with all the German charm you can hope for. The food is very good, especially the steaks. The menu varies with whatever is in season, so go more than once.
Although fully booked on a Saturday night, we were still allocated a table with plenty of time to eat and enjoy our meal. Good choise on the menu, good Service, all at a reasonable pricec,.
