Uncle Runt's; My memories go back to 1975/76 when I was the Caltrans Equipment Supervisor for District 2 for the field and resident mechanic's. Hat Creek was a regular meal stop any time of the year. I especially liked to take a new person on field trips stoping in for lunch and checking on the baby rattlers kept in a box at the front door. My grandmother was the chef here for many years. Her name was Lillian Benkosky and she passed away on the 22nd. She lived in a cabin behind Uncle Runts on Circle dr. This area and place are so very special to me and my Family. I really hope to see it up and running again. Please keep us up to date as my entire will be there for the opening for sure .
