Jimmy's Chicken Shak

Let me just say the brick oven pizza was fantastic and enjoyed by all. thus the very good rating. But just ordering the pizza via phone was a fiasco. Our last night after spending a super week in Maine. Called to order and was told they were not taking any further orders for takeout, now mind you this is a pizzeria in a tourist town, but to call back in an hour for an update. Called back and we were told they did not remember our prior call to call back. Confusion or what? Anyway after talking to the so called manager on duty, we finally placed our order, 6 different pizza's in all. After we picked them up, a few days later I noticed a gratuity charge of 10% had been added to the total. After speaking with the owner, Jimmy, he said the hostess was arbitrarily adding on this charge without asking the customers, say what? Anyway, weeks later the charge was reversed by Jimmy. You would think, maybe a free pizza for the headache? But overall, the pies were enjoyed by all with no complaints. We would certainly be back next time we are in the neighborhood even with all the confusion. By the way, Jimmy did speak to the hostess regarding adding the extra charge, so make sure you check your receipt before you leave.

Went in on a busy day. One booth left. Window was covered in flies alive and dead! Was grossed out and moved to bar.. Sent food back not cooked properly. Service hardly attentive and slow. Place is so dirty!!! Not going back!!

After checking into our campground this was an easy choice as it was just down the road and we were craving gyros. I Food was decent but expensive. Our biggest gripe was the atmosphere. It was very loud inside. Music seemed like a loud nonstop bass guitar solo. Barely wiped down the table and chairs were sticky. We ordered2 gyros and chicken tenders in wing sauce. Tenders were crisp but they accidentally made them garlic parm…. Basically dipped in a LOT of butter and parm on top. Had to wait for hot sauce to pour over them. They offered to make me a new batch, but I didn’t want to wait, the noise was too much. Gyro pitas were overcooked. They fell apart when you ate them. We were happy to get out away from the noise.

The food was good, we had a gyro, a burger and a pizza.. waitress was excellent and the kids had fun in the arcade, bowing and playing pinball. However, I can't leave out the fact that the place smells like a wet dog.. just some new carpets and a deep clean would transform it into a fabulous family restaurant.

The positive, our Server, Choleo/Becky, Ticket said Choleo bartender called her Becky, was the only service and she was running, and kept a smile and treated everyone the same, however that is where it end. The place is filithy! We were seated at a table that had not been cleaned and had to bring it to our servers attention. The tressel table by cash register had so much dust on it your could right your name. The places on the ceiling were filter and had not been washed in a long time. The windows were filthy. A quick daily cleaning should take care of all of these things. The bathrooms could use a good cleaning. Makes we wonder about the kitchen. The cole slaw tasted nasty like it was old. Ribs were ok nothing special. We not be returning, Nasty Nasty Nasty
