Been dying to try the new place-WOW!. It 's every bit as fantastic as the KCK location-maybe a little more expensive??? Not sure about the prices-it 's been awhile since we 've made the trek to KCK, but the food is outstanding! I can go here on my lunch hour and I will be. Had gordita 's and a taco, my friends had the 'tres amigos ' no one had any complaints each of us oooo-ing and ahhhhh-ing after every bite. Top it... View all feedback.
I always make it a point to dine at this restaurant whenever I'm in the KC area. The food is authentically delicious, and the portions are generous—often enough for my next meal. I highly recommend this place!
Authentic Mexican cuisine with a wide variety of protein options to suit your preferences. They offer tacos, burritos, gorditas, tortas, and quesadillas. I visited on a Sunday around 11 a.m. specifically for menudo, and though there was a line, the 10-minute wait was absolutely worth it. The majority of the customers were Latino, which indicates the authenticity of the place. I also noticed military service members and several Caucasians enjoying the delicious food. It was bustling with families, many with kids, happily digging in. As I was leaving, more patrons were arriving. This was my second visit, and it definitely won’t be my last.
Regarding the food, I've only tried the tacos, and they were okay—I actually prefer the tacos from the Minnesota location. However, the pan dulce at the Olathe location was absolutely amazing; it brought me to tears! It's a bit of a drive, but I can't wait to go back!
I highly recommend the barbacoa, which is made the authentic way from beef cheeks—definitely not like what Chipotle claims to serve. It's incredibly tender and practically melts in your mouth. The borrego, or seasoned steamed lamb, is also wonderfully tender. Anyone who dines here will love it. There’s also a restaurant next door that is always bustling. They’re owned by the same folks who run the grocery/taqueria, and they offer similar dishes. We plan to try that soon, but I can guarantee we’ll be back here for Taco Tuesday every week!
The food at this restaurant is excellent, and there is a fantastic selection to choose from. However, I did encounter an issue during my visit. I felt as though I was an unwelcome presence, as if the employees didn't want white customers in their establishment. The cashier communicated only in Spanish with me and seemed to take offense at my presence. Even though I am part of a Mexican family through marriage and have great appreciation for the culture, I was taken aback by the way I was treated.
