Saddleback Bbq - Okemos
Saddleback Bbq
Menu
The place from Okemos offers 46 different dishes and drinks on the menu at an average price of $10.3.
Saddleback BBQ presents a mixed bag of experiences that veer from culinary delight to disappointing mediocrity. While some patrons rave about succulent ribs and tender brisket tacos, others lament dry brisket and lackluster mac and cheese. The ambiance is praised for its rustic charm, enhanced by welcoming service and quick orders. However, rising prices stir concerns about overall value, especially when portions feel inconsistent. Despite the uneven performance, many agree the restaurant remains a notable spot in the greater Lansing area, especially for those who appreciate well-prepared BBQ alongside a commitment to community and fair employee wages.

Fantastic grilled meat. My darling is the bride. Kotelett and cooked for perfection. My husband loves the burned ends I believe is only available on Friday. They simmer the burned ends in their own sauce, so it is crunchy, but not hard and hard. You get the roasted meat taste in every bite. I wanted to take photos before we ate, but the food is so good that I forgot. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Saddleback Bbq:
Visited for lunch and not a sole inside. Except for the 3 workers chatting away. Should have took this as a sign to leave. Food was quick to the table but mac n cheese, beans and corn cake cold. Pulled pork and chicken dry and lacking any flavor. No table service. And then noticed the bbq sauce contains FISH. Seriously…they should make an allergen warning sign for the door. Next time we will go to Meat in Old Town. View all feedback.
My standard order there of one pound of brisket. Usually nicely smoked. Sometimes a little too dry. Sometimes too blackened. Usually OK. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
I had a great experience at this restaurant with a cool and relaxed atmosphere. They offered sweet tea, which was a bonus. I left feeling very full after enjoying a delicious 1/2 slab rib sandwich and good fries. Unfortunately, the burnt ends were disappointing as they were hard and dry. However, the corn cake paired well with their variety of BBQ sauces. Even though we didn't try the wings, they looked tempting at other tables, so we plan to come back for them. I would recommend this place if you're craving BBQ.
The brisket was good but the portions were too small for the price. The mac and cheese was average. The meat is a better value for the price.
